Is that the old rpc thing from like 2002 ish? I remembered being so pissed off by that because it wasn't even an actual virus, it was an exploit that *every* computer with XP was vulnerable to until they fixed it, and there were people sending out the rpc shutdown command via the exploit that were literally just sending it to 1.1.1.1-255.255.255.255 a few IPs at a time, shutting down every vulnerable computer they hit. What was worse was that broadband wasn't widely available or affordable yet so most of the people getting hit by it were on dialup and not behind a router where they could just block the rpc port. (In my case, I ended up taking my Linux server with 3 NiCs in it, connected an external dialup modem, and had it dial into my ISP then turned it into a router for my XP machines and blocked rpc)
