I still used XP long after it "died". In fact I still have some devices with it installed and they work just fine

Cling to it until I'm forced off or stuff stops supporting it.
Then I'll see how Proton is doing and if it's not total ass I'll probably hop on the Linux train using whatever distro is most popular and least likely to need tweaking.
