Thread ripper 2990wx. Wait for zen 3 which is right by the door. Don't be the retard who buys msrp last Gen the day before next Gen drops.

BUYING POO CPU

TR 2950x since it's not memory bandwidth starved like the 2990wx.

>wait for Zen 3
Stop waiting for Zen 3 and wait for Zen 8.

That is the ugliest face I've seen since the 5th Element.

No he's just another faggot that acts out on youtube.

1st Gen Ryzen 7 1700 $200 if you have a GPU, else 2nd Gen Ryzen 7 2700 $300 if you don't.

Probably will still be able to use the AM4 board once it comes to upgrade.

this:

This. This is what that faggot looks like.

Right now?
Really depends on your circumstances - if you've got a few PCs to upgrade over the next few years, 2700X - since Ryzen3000 will shit on Intel even in clockspeed and you can use the 2700X in another system.
If you've only got the one PC and you're just looking for a CPU 'now' that will absolutely hold up for the next few years - i9 9900X is probably your answer.

Bought my FX-6300 ~5 years ago. Shit was 80USD at the time. I still have no reason to upgrade.
Though nowadays you should probbaly go for the 2200G or whatever it was called.

For gaming, i5 8600k. Coffee lake architecture with 6c/6t and high clock speeds are great for games. Plus it can overclock so you can get a few more years out of it. For other tasks, a 6c/12t Ryzen 5 1600X can overclock for a few more years as well. If you're willing to spend a little more, the i7 8700k can do everything a 1600X can but better with its 6c/12t and high clock speeds. Might wanna invest in a better cooler for the intel chips though.

My FX-8350 housefire edition still werks after 4 years so I beg to differ.
