how does one pull off the duality of old and young?

Incorrect. I'm from '94, but I only played oldschool strategy until ~2006. Then my gaming time began, but with breaks in it.

>grew up with late gen X equipment even though I was born to be around the core gen Y age (1990)
I also got some early gen Y stuff. I eventually caught up to the core gen Y and progressed normally after that until early gen Z when I realised consoles were only gathering dust and I stopped buying them.
Honestly starting from late gen X was pretty good. The games were nice and simple and it gave me a good grounding in the classics.
I'm super fucking behind on PC games and nippon games (excluding final fantasy) though. Never played those much.

Anyone else turn one of these into a tazer, and then you and your friends shocked the shit out of each other with them?

Fairly accurate. I did have a NES growing up though.
