WILLIAM THE SON OF SCHIIT SHILL HAS BEEN CURSED

BUY SCHIIT

New hotness just dropped today.
Gonna pick it up tomorrow for school. I'm really needing something with ANC to deal with my ADD

Have no idea how they sound, but damn they look good.

They look pretty minimal and discreet in black which I like also.

The previous gen was received pretty well in comparison to the QC35, which was well received in its own right.

Reviews so far have claimed that its further improved, but still there aren't measurements available for M2 or M3 to work out why. The amp is more powerful though and the ANC is smarter and more effective with every iteration though.

Big thing for me is that they've improved on the comfort. A big complaint was that the previous gen lacked space in the cups and got warm quickly. Supposedly its improved as well.

They push for their own LDAC codec here as well, but I'm skeptical as to whether its placebo or not. Still its interesting that smart digital headphone hardware is starting to mature and beginning to be a realistic alternative to the old analog tried and tested.

Also Bose has real competition now in the ANC field, which is good for the hobby as a whole.

Pad change and some cleaning, and you are all set.
I have the first model (mostly use them for commuting, long train rides and flights). Without power their sound is hot trash, but powered on and with ANC they are really good.
I wonder if they fixed headband issue in this revision. My model is still going strong, but seems like both first and second generation are affected.

My 2nd gen one hasn't had any issues. First gen cracked within a month. I wear them near max so you know my head is fat.

2nd gen is metal headband right?
From what I've read they've gone back to plastic for weight reduction. Only time will tell if its durable though.

I've still got my HD25-II's sitting around and they're god damn indestructible decades on with its dual band design.

>Pad change and some cleaning, and you are all set.
I think new headband will be a good addition too.

Wha... How?
I mean, I get that headphones can get a bit dirty over time.

Do you ever wash your face and hair?

based and redpilled. this woke owner understands the importance of a symbiotic relationship with stax. it's not fair to just enjoy stax, you must give your life essence to it in return. an orgasm for an orgasm

Are bluetooth IEM's still universally trash or are there some decent pairs now?
I really want some wireless buds for my job and am willing to spend a bit of money for it. But if theres no difference between a $150 and $10 pair, I might as well go chinkshit

>an orgasm for an orgasm
you gave me a boner

>Comfy onears with cups that covers whole ears suitable for upcoming cold autumn/winter days
>Bluetooth
>Aux-port for the option to go wire if needed
>no need for ANC or some extra faggotry making it expensive

Dont mind chink shit, just if its good. What should I get?

I got Fidelio X2 for a few months. They're fun I like them but they have fucked up my hair, my barber noticed a few times too.
Do I get speakers to replace them? Just want something for my PC: vidya, movies and music.
What is the go to speakers for 300$? lsr305 or smth else?

Better bass than hd598

I have hd598 which I like a lot (mostly for classical and country) but I want to listen to metal and electronic music with bass too (and I'd like closed ones)

audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/schiit-audio-modi-dac-pop-issue.513564/
Schiit is shit. I have been having this problems since I bought it one and a half year ago, sometimes it wasn't that noticeable, but I still have this shit.
A dude wants to buy me this, so I will be selling it and getting a OL DAC with optical port.
I want to try to solve this before selling it because I will be selling it for 75€ and then the shipment will be like 5~10€, and the OL DAC is like 140€, so I will be spending 70€ for this, though I will be pairing to a O2 AMP, so they will at least look good.
So, the question itself, how the fuck do I fix this shit? It only happens when usign the expert mode but on all PCs I tried. When using the PS4 or phone, I don't notice that (using the regular mode).

How are the AKG headphones you get for pre-ordering the note 9? Mine are going to take about a month to get here.

Did I do something wrong?

Yes, you hurt their feelings by owning expensive stuff that they consider bad in a particualr version of reality in which they also don't have anything better or more expensive to brag about.

You probably live a great life. I despise you for that.

You can too if you get a job

If only it was that easy.
You have to get a good job while living in a good country — that's the hard part.

count yourself lucky you posted early in the morning. the schiit haters / shitposters / angry jealous manchildren come out in swarms in the evening. nice, clean setup tho. makes mine look like a rats nest. I also own a yggy, and I'm getting my hands on a raggy soon as well. will be using it with speakers tho.

It's not even his pic

What IEMs have the greatest durability/price ratio? I care relatively little about comfort and sound.

Finally got em, eh? Well, keep us posted

Haters gonna hate, but based Schiit soldiers on.

I posted as much as I'm going to on 4chin. Check the latest /ag/ thread for my final post there. If you're really keen on seeing my thoughts (heaven forbid I actually have someone interested in what I have to say), I post regularly on SBAF and will give my extensive thoughts there in a few weeks. Pic unrelated; my best attempt at cable management.

fuck off to sbaf already then

If you're to believe the vocal majority, anyone who buys Schiit is a sucker. They're literary scamming you by selling poorly measuring gear at "industry disrupting" prices. PS. I own two Schiit dacs and I'm done drinking the cool aid. Time to get a new DAC! Or maybe I should just get a fucking turntable.

goodbye, attention whore.

Go get your validation somewhere else then. What kind of tranny needs recognition from audio nerds? A fucking ugly man who can't pass.
All the good traps are too busy acquiring sugar daddies and porn contracts to need this kind of affirmation from 'jealous manchildren'.

Why do you faggots keep saying realtek 1220 output quality is good enough?
I recently got a cheap Behringer interface just for clean mic input, but the output too is significantly better than on x370 Taichi. Tested with SHP9500 and xiaomi triple hybrid IEMs, both sound more clear and detailed, especially mid-lows on SHP9500.
Brief research into DAC sound signatures led me to believe it's caused by impedance difference, which on realtek is ridiculously high. Now I want to try some actual low-impedance DAC designed for headphones because my Behringer has it higher than recommended too.

you are comparing amps not dacs

let see.
what the best you can offer for $100?
i've tried shp9500 and i want something else.

Have any competitors to the HD800S come out lately? In terms of sound stage, imaging, and being neutral to slightly bright. Not a fan of the Focals.

Attached: 14597943279488.png (1920x998, 3.08M)

If I were you, I’d give a try to Stax L700 and Chifiman Ananda.

>Stax
I should had mentioned that I was talking about real headphones. Not Stax trash.

oh look it's a nostaxer. no wonder you're still searching for an end game

The HD800S is my end game. Doesn't mean that a better headphone wont come out eventually.

wut

Attached: what.png (499x252, 23K)

already has, stax. there are a few other stax shills here who own an HD800S

Well before today I did not know either should affect sound signature that much and not just sound quality.
If I were to add a headphone amp would its output impedance matter more or less than source output impedance?

apparently Takstar 82 is a good choice under a hundred

Please respond ;_;

Oh, also looking for over ears

others?

>If I were to add a headphone amp would its output impedance matter more or less than source output impedance?
impedance between dac and amp does not matter at all for the consumer

output impedance is important, yes

>already has, stax.
Even if I was willing to over pay for their headphone's poor quality. I'm not for their terribly over priced amps.

>poor quality
lel

252S, $250 ebay. their headphones aren't poor quality and they don't paint chip like the sennheisers :)

Charging over $1000 for an amp with an analogue pot is already retarded. Charging $6000 for one just shows the retarded fanbase.

>analogue

>analogue
You got me.

I'm actually a girl not a tranny and I have a boyfriend who I'm very happy with. I don't come here seeking validation, I come here to share my audio journey experience same as you guys. Stop being so assblasted by my presence, nerd.

nobody cares

oh shut the fuck up already. sennheiser is worse. they sell their orpheus for $50k. their hd820S is shit and they charge an insane price for it. the HD800 and HD820 have such a cheap paint job they flake. their $2k amps use cheapo chinese chips.
leave already

Attached: Sennheiser-HD-820_HD-800_and-HD-800S---FR.jpg (1596x617, 252K)

>but other sennheiser products!
My HD800S are fine. They also didn't cost $4500 like Stax flagships. I'm also not forced to use a sennheiser amp. None of that really justifies how absolute shit Stax's amps are for the price.

I'm not going anywhere sweetie

Attached: IMG_3086.jpg (800x1136, 224K)

>My HD800S are fine.
they won't be. all hd800s flake.
>They also didn't cost $4500 like Stax flagships.
hd800 is beaten by the L300 so why are you bringing up their flagships?
>I'm also not forced to use a sennheiser amp.
you are not forced to use a stax amp
>None of that really justifies how absolute shit Stax's amps are for the price.
agreed

>you are not forced to use a stax amp
I pretty much am.

>K, bud
t. nostaxer. plenty of stax owners have heard hd800s to compare with, I have as well. funny how it's always the hd800 owners afraid to try stax. they are also always the ones coming in here to ask if there is anything better. you don't see stax owners doing that :^)

I've never seen anyone post a anything past sr007 on here so. And the majority of Stax fans are 3rd world given the terrible USA support.

You're arguing with the most insufferable cunt in this thread. He thrives on negative attention. Just leave him(her) alone, they're clearly mad they aren't cute enough to get a cute boyfriend.

a thread or two ago an user posted pictures of his sr-009 to compare with his HD800S + other staxs. maybe you should lurk more instead of coming in once in awhile to a general just to ask if anything has beaten your hd800s so you can feel secure with your purchase.

Some dude just got his SR009s. I tried the 009s yesterday, they really are nice. I think I like the L700 just as much though.

Ya fuck me for liking the hobby of headphones, amplifiers and dacs. You can continue to fanboy for shit you don't own and probably never will.
Good for that user then.

>asks a question and instantly assume he has buyers remorse and needs reinforcement on his purchase
Why do you assume this? If he wanted a circle jerk to pat him on the back and congratulate him on his purchase it there are tons of other (non anonymous) image boards he could post on to get that. Get your head down from above the clouds, Alvin.

Sorry the rudeboy anons are crawling out of the woodwork today, user. I feel your pain :(

>Ya fuck me for liking the hobby of headphones, amplifiers and dacs.
stop pretending you're some sort of victim, you are disqualifying an entire brand lineup for petty reasons. you asked a question but didn't like the answer, it's very simple.
>You can continue to fanboy for shit you don't own and probably never will.
couldn't care less if you believe if I own stax or not, this isn't an uncommon opinion. go look for stax impressions on any forum

Just buy a SRM252S and a SR-507. Cheap (for endgame), easily beats the HD800S, and is well built. Metal yokes and heavy plastic cups. You can afford it, I believe in you.

>you are disqualifying an entire brand lineup for petty reasons
Explain to me how shit support in the USA and using analog pots along with other cheap parts in their amps is petty? The latter I could see if that $1000 amp was their top of line.
>go look for stax impressions on any forum
I care far more for real measurements and company support. Sennheiser support is pretty great. Everything I've read about Stax is their support is non existent and instead refer to their importers.
They don't. I know to ignore these shitposts of buy "X" Staxx and then ignore the amp.

They do. I'd refrain from spouting dumb opinions when you haven't heard anything past whatever mid-fi audiophool garbage you have now.

>Explain to me how shit support in the USA
I can't explain shit support because their direct support, quite frankly, is not good outside of japan. their headphones last forever though because their build quality is great. the solution is to buy from a source who provides a good warranty/support.
>using analog pots along with other cheap parts in their amps is petty
again I agree with you that their amps (and estat amps in general) are overpriced. the srm-252 is all you need, the rest is snake oil anyways.
>I care far more for real measurements
the hd800 doesn't measure well compared to stax so what are you even bringing this up for. high THD in the bass due to excursion problems with treble spikes and a upper midrange dip.
