What's the best Linux distribution?
What's the best Linux distribution?
The only one
Holy shit! how can people not be bored of this yet?
Is it though?
Linux from Scratch
Install Solus
ios
Debian and it's not even close
The one I'm using
The one he's using.
Whichever one you feel most comfortable/productive with, now fuck off.
That's the problem, I never used them and I want to get started
...
ubuntu
Idk user, why are we still not bored of countless wincuck vs macfag vs lincuck threads in this shithole? It's literally getting reposted every single day.
Also fuck desktop threads.
Void Linux is the obvious one. Feels like Arch, it's minimal, easy to use and uses runit.
You shilled me into it. Was using Ubuntu since 6.06 and had still 16.04 but since they removed unity i thought it's time to switch. Installation took about 5 minutes. Enter keyboard layout, username, password next next next and 2 minutes later it was installed.
The only downside is that Budgie is basically a one man show and the team does not seem too big in general. I'll leave my laptop on Ubuntu for a few weeks before migrating to see if i find some other problems.
Thanks Solus shill.
Manjaro.
they're all the same you fucking faggots
if you have to ask this question you're too stupid to use linux
ubuntu for general. qubes for security. gentoo for memes.
This user uses it.
Not really, you know how much time you can save installing the right distro? Compiling things from source is not fun. Outdated packages, having to trust third party repositories. Fucking kill yourself if you think they all the same.
this
this
Is it even worth trying?
>Outdated packages
If they work and if they're being maintained by the security team, why does it matter?
Debian GNU/Linux The universal operating system
devuan
I really like xubuntu
android
Because installing a linux distro and setting it up is easy and makes you feel like you got a lot done.
fuck off kevin
It should just be Debian Linux since (((stalinman))) rejected and disparaged the project.
this but with less packages installed
been using this for a couple weeks.
startup is faster than ubuntu, xbps is way faster than apt-get, almost instant.
apart from that it's just another distro. the repos are lacking some useful programs so you have to install from sources. not that it is a bad thing.
For first timers just use Ubuntu
>What's the best Linux distribution?
and why it's Arch
It's not. Void is better Arch.
you mean Arch?
