mpc-hc is no better quality than windows media player without madvr and vs-filters. Even VLC 4, now that it supports libplacebo, has more rendering features. The features you're talking about are: a GUI. That's literally it. And mpv already has that.

Doesn't everybody stream their kino to their TV? This is for when you're watching at your desktop.

I have an Nvidia Shield TV but I still enjoy kino on my desktop sometimes.

I have my pc connected to my monitor and my tv. I use mpv on both to watch movies.

I installed Plex on my main office PC and now I can stream to all network devices Samsung TV and xiaomi mi box which is connected to my old pioneer plasma. xiaomi support 36bit color mode and works fantastic with pioneer.
Plex is very good for anime. with little fiddling it recognized all my anime series and everything works very well
