Will command lime applications get me laid?
mpv
Doing anything this board tells you is the exact opposite of how to get laid.
Tmux will definitely not get you laid. However, it is extremely useful and something you should learn how to use.
No. But command lemon applications will
And depends how you look at it. Familiar with command line = 150-200k at the end of you career. Certainly that'll pay for quite a number of prostitutes
who thought ^B was a good idea though
Only if you have the looks to back it up.
You are already browsing Jow Forums, the damage is done, /r9gay/ has more chance of getting laid than anyone here.

Who am I kidding? If you're on Jow Forums, you're probably a permavirgin.
So tmux is basically a wm for terminal? Why not go deep and use full wm like i3?
Because you will most likely not have the chance to install some kind of wm on your work computer.
Tmux is a godsend for me at work because for every new ssh session I have to use a shitty 2FA process and go through a jump server.
>project manager: hey user did you get a chance to do that report?
>hold on, pacman fucked up my x configs again. I have to fix it
>project lead: you gave an excuse all week. You're fired
That's you
Just pick something that just works and you won't waste time reconfiguring you're DE all day
>Tmux will definitely not get you laid.
But will it give me enough free time to take Mary-Anne to the malt shoppe?
Remember kids.
If it's not GNU/Screen, it's not GNU.
the strong point of tmux is the tmux + ssh combo and the fact sessions remain after you leave the ssh
Because tmux can have sessions in background.
For my webservice I just start it via tmux, so that I can still access even after having closed the ssh-session.
GNU userland is legacy trash.
That's funny. Next you'll be telling people to install Alpine.
I guess I could search and read, but what exactly are the benefits of tmux over screen? I've been using screen since forever. I've seen mentions of tmux from time to time, but I've never even bothered trying it since my impression is that it's basically just another .. screen. Is tmux somehow better?
get a tiling wm grandpa
>get a tiling wm
obviously not the same thing. can't login to a remote server and start some stuff in screen and logout with a wm. it's also a lot quicker to have screen with 3 windows than 3 windows in a wm imho
you can use nohup
>Doing anything this board tells you is the exact opposite of how to get laid.
Actually all you have to do is be attractive and girls will start begging you to come over and "fix their computer".
I can remember the mid-80's when Apple was pushing the GUI in the home computer market. MS-DOS guys were pouring scorn on the Mac saying the command line was for Real Men and only pansies used the WIMP interface. Of course, when MS brought out Windows there was a certain amount of back-tracking and finally the claim that their WIMP was better than Apple's.
And so it goes on.
Hire a hooker.
yes?
Emacs can do all that and more. Why would I ever use tmux?
>Because you will most likely not have the chance to install some kind of wm on your work computer.
how much of a bitch do you have to be where can't install programs on your work computer?
Any sane IT department at a workplace of adults will disallow unauthorized tampering of company prep property.
Which is precisely why I use tmux.
