Stockpiling Win7 peripheral devices and using offline Windows 7 OS

Have you ensured you have a completely offline fully activated Win7:s with all the software you would need for it and all your peripheral devices work in Win 7 and in case of new installs, you have saved all device drivers and necessary offline .net installations, directx and whatever, to a safe place so you can keep using Win 7 20 years from now if necessary, to produce music, video or whatever it is you are doing?

no lol

>the state of winjeets

If you need more software, use a USB.
Also EOL is a meme, just use antivirus or don't be a total moron while watching porn.

so you are going to use Loonix and just throw away all your peripheral devices?

(they will not work in Lunix and not in Win 10 either)

Better than running a dead OS full of non-closed vulnerabilities.

Just what kind of piece of shit peripheral does that?

for example many older professional audio hardware (USB and Firewire hardware) doesnt work with newer systems than Windows Vista or 7 and they never worked in Linux and never will work in Linux

I already did all that with 16 and 32 bit (MS-DOS, Windows 3.1/95/98/2000/XP)

10 just works. Anything that worked on 7 is pretty much guaranteed to always work on 10 and all future versions of Windows. Can't say the same thing about anything XP or earlier.

>throw away all your peripheral devices
all my devices work out of the box in GNU/Linux

Someone made a Windows 98 PC from stockpiled 20 year old parts so it's possible

can get any worse?

>guaranteed to always work
PPPFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTT

i have a universal crack and autoupdate disabled
everythings gud mane

>a USB.

What's the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10 offline mode?

I've got a usb audio card that doesn't even have Windows 7 drivers and only works in XP, so checkmate faggot.

Know a guy who runs a music studio and does all the recording and mixing himself. Still running Windows 2000 for everything.

I'm a bit like that too.
I have that for XP. have all components updates (including POS09) saved and a batch file to install them
I have all for 2000, NT, and 98 as well.
not as well prepared for 3.1 or 95 (have most components like y2k or IE 5)

wish I'd done so for XP x64 though

Yup, Win7 and XP/2000, server 2003/2008/2012 as well. ISOs and full updates and whatnot with offline activation. All drivers for every device I have updated Jan of each year. on 8 gb usb drive and in storage unit on a 320 normal 2.5 HDs. Oh noes, I wasted 1 day of my time a year.

>Non-closed vulnerabilities
>Fully offline
What did he mean by this?

Yes. I currently have 9 Windows 7 era systems. Two core i7 3rd gen(one main for media consumption, content creation and file storage/serving, and one HTPC/casual gayming system connected to a 55" lcd tv) One Core 2 Quad SFF, and a Zotac zbox mini pc for pure streaming/retro gaming/emulators, AND THEN five laptops. An Asus RoG 15.6" with a 3rd gen i7, An Ayylmaoware M11x, An Asus eeepc 10.1" netbook, An acer 8.9" netbook, and an hp 14" beater with an AMD quad core.

All running Windows 7.

hold on a sec, someone built a windows 98 pc?

> No bone rot

I feel kinda nervous that that's something they feel the need to tell me..

nah jk, I'd still use it

you fucked up. Z370 is the best platform for windows 7. Last chipset that has usb working without having to use an add on card.

Ryzen's USB works without an addon card on Windows 7

even ryzen refresh boards?

Oh, you're talking about hardware where the manufacturer did something completely non-standard and then only ever wrote a closed source driver for a single version of Windows and never updated it?
Did you try purchasing hardware from a reputable brand instead?

Why would I want to use such a shit OS?

I have a early win7 install with updates turned off to run a particular program. might try and get that program working in Wine but it uses the MIDI interface so might be hard to do.
