Where were you when smartphone battery life stopped sucking?

How will iToddlers ever recover?

Dumbphones had so much more battery, i don't do anything with my '''smart'''phone and shit still has to be charged like every other day. Garbage.

>Android Pie Doubles battery life!
>YEAH BUT MY PHONE DOESNT HAVE PIE AND THE BATTERY SUCKS ANYWAYS
I'm not even fucking suprised you're this stupid

Don't those phones have only an hour of talk time?

Are there any good phones with a removeable battey anymore? I like my iphone se but it's basically unrepairable and has a semi-shit OS

Nope. Replaced with water resistance and glass/metal.

at the mercy of manufacturers unless you spring for a chinkphone

>I'm dumber than my phone and I leave on every radio I dont use and buy a touch screen panel I resent powering when all I want is a tiny e-ink panel with tactile numberpad buttons and maybe an address book.
Shut up faggot

samsung J7 neo if you want cheap and good

I'm lazy and I need a quick run down. Is this all implemented in software or is there special battery hardware needed? I'm still using a Nexus 5 with the 3000mAh battery mod. It's running Android 8.1 and the battery life is mediocre at best. I'd definitely be interested in improving it.

They can't recover. There's no cure for HIV, user.

Dumbphone battery dies pretty quick if you use it like smartphone. Such as playing games all day and checking mail every minute. The reason its pathetic battery carried it for a week is because it sat idling 99.9% of the time.

I have 3-5 days of battery life on my lagdroid already.

>Is this all implemented in software or is there special battery hardware needed?
Don't worry, it's all implemented in the public relations press department.

>I'm still using a Nexus 5 with the 3000mAh battery mod
Whoa whoa whoa there buddy, that's one hell of a big battery you have right there. 3000 mAh? That's almost XXXtremeXtra huge!

The Pixel 2 is notoriously bad for battery

Your phone is not a pixel 2?

Seriously, why do threads like this attract morons

Oh boy, here come the apple iVirgins. Ouch!

Because you don't spend 3-5 hours fiddling with your dumbphone.

If you were use your smartphone as a dumbphone, you could most likely get four times as long battery out of it, maybe even longer if you enable battery saving / stamina modes.

in 2006 i got a nokia that i charged only on sunday nights, it could go a whole week without charging. new phones are retarded consumer bullshit and i'm proud to say i haven't owned a cell phone since my nokia died around 2010. give me pure finnish autism or nothing at all.

At the T Mobile store 2 years ago buying an iPhone SE

may i ask how the AI is implemented? Is is this MI (Meme intelligence)?

user literally said he uses his smartphone like a dumbphone. learn to read.

>Where were you when smartphone battery life stopped sucking?
bringing back the replaceable battery

> may i ask how the AI is implemented?
omg nooooooo
somebody please escort this person outside, nooo

Moto e4, e5.

How does a replaceable battery increase battery life?

swapping a battery you keep in your workplace desk or at your desktop takes 10 seconds and effectively doubles battery life when you're low

Yahoo "Adaptive Battery" you fucking morons

r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrgEZ4NLotbGhYA5sYMGCI5;_ylu=X3oDMTByaDNhc2JxBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMQRjb2xvA2dxMQR2dGlkAw--/RV=2/RE=1535876749/RO=10/RU=https://venturebeat.com/2018/08/28/how-android-pies-adaptive-battery-and-adaptive-brightness-work//RK=2/RS=svAFHwdS6yL9iXPMAdI5bXrzxDI-

And how do I get this on my phone? No, I'm not buying a new phone every 5 months

Should have got a phone that actually gets updates

>yahoo

Sounds like a genetic algorithm.
Would be more efficiently done using a modified hash-map.

Also:
>stores the apps you use most often
i hope no 4nigger is using 4chinx on these

Oh no, the phone that I use my apps on is storing the apps I use

What?

>what is iCloud

What is iCloud.

Do tell me.

Why are claims of this always wrong?

My mix 2 gets 2 full days of use and 3 of lesser use, so based on this I'd expect the pixel 2 to get 4 days of full use and 6 days off lesser use.

It doesn't look like a doubling to be or even close, why promote a 10% improvement as 100%? Clickbait bullshit.

What the actual fuck are you talking about

Your phone is not a Pixel 2, and Xiaomi already has background battery saving tech in MIUI

Why are you even comparing the battery life of two different phones?

So when is LineageOS updating to be based on Pie

Shame Pie will very unlikely never ever officially roll out via OTA for my Axon 7. I'll just get the Axon 9/Axon 9 Pro.....

Just make sure your next phone has treble to update whatever you want via GSIs

>Why are you even comparing the battery life of two different phones?
Shit, they are getting suspicious!

Attached: 1508332271884.jpg (396x431, 217K)

I don't think you understood

Attached: 1508125136647.jpg (659x609, 36K)

Because same fucking chipset and overall same power usage of radios and screen and everything, miui just shuts up background stuff more

this is true, the time the phone is left idle has changed more than how long the battery lasts
phones last less now not because phone just waste more power, but because you use them more often

>throttles SoC
>doubles time it takes to open/run app
>double battery life
ecksdee

I tried some pajeet P rom for treble last night and it was quite unstable. Try again maybe next year or so.
