It's all In Real Time screen space reflection in this game and not cube max faking...So WHY do we "need" Ray Tracing so bad to force us to play at 720@30fps for a hybrid Ray Tracing ?
Ryan Murphy
Yes. Also Physx, G-Sync, Ansel etc.
Jaxon Ramirez
I don't think there is a single game out there with properly bending shoulders or hip/groin joints. Probably needs separate skeleton, flesh and skin simulation to do it well and nobody is going to bother with that shit.
gsync works but it's still a gimmick as has been shown by the few cases of people getting gsync to work on monitors without any proprietary module which nvidia claims for it to work see also: freesync, which is decidedly not a gimmick
Ryan Barnes
>What you need isn't "muh Ray Tracing" Literally never heard someone saying this. Raytracing is for prerendered shit, not real time.
Owen Brooks
I'd rather have gay tracing, if you know what I mean.
Jason Parker
OP sounds poor.
Charles Torres
nvidia are marketing real time raytracing... with 1 ray per pixel in real time
>cube max faking You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
Dominic Cooper
JUST BUY IT (tm)

Ground Zeroes is a NVIDIA sponserered game.
Josiah Evans
Gsync monitors have an fpga onboard storing frames in DDR4, then pulling them out and displaying them as needed to maintain the consistent frame rate. Makes a lot of sense to me
Watch this video from 1:02 , it neatly explains the shortcomings of screen-space reflections.
>Physx
CPU Physx (that is actually used nowadays) is not a gimmick at all. A fuckton of games use it (even if they don't advertise that). It's the default physics engine in Unreal and Unity.
Aaron Ortiz
>In Real Time screen space reflection in this game and not cube max faking And you think that's a good thing? Retard.
Isaiah Morris
From the guys that said you will need more cores, just wait tm and fine wine. AYYMD boys
this, a lot of people ignore the AMD fine wine, and its actually impressive how good it is
Jason Williams
GTA V has had ray tracing years ago without any cost to graphics, look at GTA V puddles at night
Hunter Gutierrez
Is adaptive sync really only useful if you get screen tearing? My friend is buying a new GPU and asked advice, he has a freesync monitor and feels locked in to AMD. I argued that adaptive sync doesn't matter if you are getting consistent frame rates and he should just buy the highest end card available.
Evan Nguyen
>feels locked in to AMD when you use the industry standard, you are locked to AMD. When you pay additional $100 novidia tax for your monitor, you have the choice of novidia. I bet he likes to watch his girlfriend get pounded by others.
Hunter Harris
All gaming graphics are gimmicks. Their only purpose is to distract you from the awful gameplay.
>sexualizing women in video games you know, this is the reason why you're all lonely virgins and potential rapists. Anita Sarkeesian is not wrong when she says video games are dangerous to our democracy.
The problem is that now Nvidia cards are called RTX, which is a stupid name, more than GTX was.
Colton Jackson
I agree. I always disable shit like that. For some retarded reason game creators nowadays are like >"Blurring the everything beyond recognition really brings out my artistic autism. Also: Widescreen. Muh black bars are so artsy!"
David Rivera
It kind of sounds like "artig" in neonazi, which means good as in "good boy". Not even kidding.
Joseph Green
"Screen Space". That's the problem. Ray Tracing is kinda "Outside Screen Space", right?
Oliver Garcia
"Screen Space Reflections are exclusive Ground Zeroes PC, adding real-time, screen-wide reflections to pools of water, puddles, and reflective materials when the Extra High detail level is selected.
These reflections accurately display all elements of a scene, including lighting and shadowing dynamic or otherwise, and impressively, light from reflections can also illuminate other scene elements. Their fidelity obviously falls short of reflections found in PC gaming's greatest linear showcases, but in the context of open-world games their addition is a step ahead of other titles employing fake cubemapped reflections and techniques with limited reflective properties."
It does the fucking job. Outside Screen Space is just if you want to masturbate, a.k.a, being able to occasionally see an enemy player on a windows in Battlefield Vagina...

What i want to know is why developers haven't solved clipping and floating objects like (OP)'s pic.

Messaged you on tinder. >let's fucc at a truck stoppe

Does G-Sync make 60 fps feel 60 fps video smooth?
Jordan Peterson
Physx and ansel are gimmicks but adaptive sync is something that should already be a widespread, common thing. why have a screen locked at a refresh rate that doesn't correspond with the content your viewing? do people like screen tearing? do people also like jelly scrolling on phones and backlight glow on ips monitors?
Josiah Thomas
is this 2014 again?

good thread, I think I got 30 (You)s posting fake screenshots pointing to rickroll.

For gaming: Yes, although it may be cool in the future.
For rendering, raytracing is huge.
Ryder Moore
That actually looks phenomonal.

>A single, combined, hardware-native global illumination, ambient occlusion, shadows, materials, reflection, and overall lighting solution How the fuck is this a bad thing?
Landon Flores
Isn't ray tracing a set and forget feature? The technology is supposed to do all the hard work or something like that.
Aaron Thomas
>video games get the fuck out
Jaxson Cooper
>mod mob
Dylan Peterson
>Isn't ray tracing just another gimmick like hairworks?
Ever hear of the movie industry? You can thank ray tracing for just about every movie made in the last 20 years. Especially those heavy in CGI. Ray tracing itself is ancient and the basic concept is actually not that hard to comprehend. What was always hard was making it fast in scenes with thousands, millions of objects.
