IBM Model F/M

Why does no single company just manufacture keyboards using the same type of mechanism used in the IBM Model F/M keyboards?

Clearly there are enough people autistic enough to buy old, rotting pieces of junk, so why is there no modern production of these types of keyboards?

which one is supposedly supposed to be like the Model M?

Because buckling spring technology is ass and the only reason to use it is if you get an original.

...

Cherry MX Browns > buckling spring

Keytronic or topre

Buckling springs BTFO everything else for click feedback and Topre BTFOs everything else for bump. Cherry MX are cheap placebo shit for poorfags.

>topre
what is the point of analog switches with gradation when literally nothing uses them?

>To order a 103/105 keyboard purchase a 104 keyboard and order a "customization fee" and tell us if you want 103 or 105.
wtf is this about?

Model M is still made by Unicomp even with Usb, model f had kickstarter while ago.

>more than $5 bucks for a keyboard
why mechanicalfags are so delusional?

I meant the mechanism, and not the ugly cover of the keyboard.

Unicomp uses the same buckling spring that the model M did

then what the hell are all those models they sell for? what is the difference? and wtf is this:

>then what the hell are all those models they sell for?
Because keyboard enthusiasts want custom configurations
>and wtf is this
You can order one with some extra keys not found on the original model M. Ask their support for questions

>no ISO
>no super exotic european memecountry layout
why even..

>>no ISO
?

Unicomp is literally a group of ex-IBM employees who bought the patents and all the tooling to make Model M keyboards when IBM decided to stop producing them you spurg.

>when IBM decided to stop producing them you spurg.
IBM sold that shit off way before production of model m's stopped.

Here you go tard

My mistake they purchased the tooling from Lexmark and the patents from IBM, regardless they are as close to authentic as you can get new.
