You can definitely notice the difference between those resolutions OP, unless you're talking about a phone or a laptop.

4k will be the top for most monitors and TV's.
4k 27" 1ms 144hz oled panels with no burn-in is the future I want

I would give a kidney for 2 screens.

>27"
Nigga I have 32" monitor and I cant even tell 1080p from 4k at desktop distance.

Thats not how resolution works.
Try watching 480p vs. 4K on a 60" tv and youll see why we need those high resolutions. Now if you are on a tiny phone screen ill agree that everything from 720p up is barely noticeable.

why the fuck is 2k not halfway between 4k and 1080

Get your eyes checked.

I can't notice the difference between 720p and 1080p, and I'm looking at a 40" tv from some meters away

I can see a difference between 1080p and 1440p, I can also see the difference between 1080p and 2160p. However, I sometimes have difficulty seeing the difference between 1440p and 2160p unless they're side-by-side, probably because I'm used to looking at a 1080p screen and anything better than 1080p seems equally better.

Why is 1 megapixel not 1024x1024?

you can notice 4k it's exceedingly obvious with text

Get your brain checked.

>32" monitor
>Can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4K
My eyes are bad and I'm too lazy to wear my glasses and even I can tell the difference between these resolutions at that size.

1080p and 4K on a mobile device? Literally identical to my eyeballs.

You can see a slight difference between 1080p and 1440p on mobile. You have to look closely, though.

10k is the next resolution its the same as 1440p is to 1080p and 5k is to 4k .

once 8k is the normal there will be 10k screens for video edits etc just how video editors should really use 5k screens atm.

in reality any thing over 1440p is retarded and only useful for VR.

why do people even give a shit anymore? i have zero desire to increase resolution beyond 1080p. the extra pixels arent worth the extra resources it take to utilize them. And you never even notice the difference when using them, sure maybe at first but it gets normal and unimpressive fairly quickly.

honestly the last monitor upgrade i gave a shit about was moving to flat screens. crts were fucking awkward and heavy to move. it was worth it just for the wieght and size of the screens.

720p, 768, 1080p, 1440p, 4k and now 8k. just a bigger number to put on a product to make it sell. better blacks more vivid color and improved contrasts would make a far better and more worthwhile upgrade compared to jamming more pixels in the damned things, to say nothing of technologies such as g-synch or freesynch. all these things are more important to a good picture. fuck resolution.

I went to 1080p to 4k (simulating 1440p for dat text smoothness) and i'd fucking kill myself If I had to go back to 1080p. the 1440p real estate was a bigger upgrade for me than the 4k smoothness

i have a 21.5 inch 1080p monitor and a 24 inch 4k monitor, and i cannot play games on my 1080p monitor anymore because i can see the pixels and if i set my 4k monitor to 1080p it kind of looks washed out on top of the pixelation.

8K

Are you retarded?

this desu. An 8K computer monitor 1 foot away for all intent and purposes would look crystal clear without the need for AA and any higher res screen would arguably be placebo.

blind retard

4K is only a meme if you're blind.
8K will actually be a meme.

I can still see the individual pixels at 4k 27”. The last meme resolution is probably 8k.
