In your case, if you're doing some kind of tech job, the market over here is screaming for it and most native Norwegians aren't interested in STEM at all. We are especially in need for software developers, but other types of engineering work is often welcomed too. For most of those jobs you don't need to pass a language test (but your permit of residence is linked to your job until you do the language tests and apply for a more general worker's permit like I'm guessing your father has).

Hmmm that is interesting. I am considering working in Norway too, but for now I am mainly staying in the UK just because I had my education there and I have experience living in London. I have also kind of get accustomed to the good and bad stuff of working with British people.

Ah, if you're in the UK already, then the benefits of moving to Norway is not so great in comparison I guess. Taxes are higher here and the salaries are not that much higher than in the UK, so I think that the cost of living is higher here (maybe London is an exception, I don't know, but at least Oslo where I live and 80% of tech jobs are is expensive as fuck).
