I use a proper taskbar (small icons, not always show labels/never combine) but the average user is too brainlet to figure that out. I don't post my desktop because I haven't bothered changing from the default background.

I imagine I'll eventually get into it but I don't know if its worth it atm. I really only play Dota 2 atm and even then with my last year of HS starting tomorrow I won't have time for games whatsoever until I graduate. Also, I've heard of a lot of programs that don't work on Linux so I would also have to wait until I get another drive (SSD preferably) and just launch linux on one drive, windows on the current one. Also, it seems a little daunting to get into.

seems like a good idea. it's really easy to start. find a tutorial on how to install something that looks nice out of the box - i'd recommend 'Manjaro - Budgie' because it looks like windows and works well. also, with the software thing, there's always alternatives. if you're unsure though, a second drive is a great idea.
