yep, I just checked.

Sadly they're only using 45 images, it's like the -1th generation of vr glasses.

It will have a pretty low image quality because of this, nothing like on the videos.
Also it'll only work when looked from a specific distance range, like 60-100m or something like that.

Don't get me wrong, light field displays are the fucking future of 3d displays.
It allows you to have dinamic focus completely natural for your eyes without shitty fresnel lens, and they would have a huge sweet spot.
Sadly it'll take even much more processing power than today's vr lenses, so I'm not anticipating a commercial light field vr headset for another 6-8 years.

not yet, but i see this tech used in a not so long distant future to be used for marketing or showcase, isntead of having some actual piece of hardware at a store or convention, you can have the holographic version, full 3d vieweing, etc.

This will be cool for 3d printers were you can have an actual real live 3d representation of your design on the fly, or maybe for custom paint, and things like that.

yes holograms exist, but suffer from a major problem:
Lets say you want to take an holographic picture, by nature of the process you will have an ultraHD picture that can be seen from many angles, and the closer you get to it the more you will see. I am talking about the capability of seeing the pores and the air inside them, after a close shave. A single color picture will, because of this, have Gigabytes of information. So it is unpractical for now to do said things.
