Best linux distro for thinkpads/chromebooks?

Minus Gentoo, since that's a well known and rounded meme

Pretty much all of them. What are your interests user?

Whichever one tickles your taint, man. Thinkpads can handle pretty much any distro just fine, but the more lightweight the better.

I have xubuntu on my X60s and it works great

Android x86

bunsenlabs or mint

If i had a Chromebook, I'd install Debian.

If i had a thinkpad, I'd install Debian.

I have a desktop, I installed Debian.

I think you get the gist.

I also like Maki.

Install Fedora GNU.

>systemd
lol

Doesn't matter, just get something lightweight. Which depends mostly on your choice of de, not the distro itself.

nice, does the battery last longer with Android?

I actually like systemd. What's so bad about it and what are the alternatives?

It lasts about the same as ubuntu or fedora. It doesn't last that long, but I get around 5 hours of use out of it

Can you use your fingers with the x220t/x230t line or are you limited to stylus usage? I always thought about getting an x220t/x230t as my android x86 daily driver but don't want to be forced to use a fucking stylus.

kek ubuntu was my first and its shit

being this new

Fuck all these meme teir comments. Get your self a net install of debian stable. When your installing it deselect Default Debian Desktop Environment and choose xfce or somthing.

No, fuck off, it autistically complains about missing firmware even with the nonfree iso. It's just trash.
For an older ThinkPad, imho something like Slackware would be excellent if you don't mind manual dependency management. Or you can be autistic, like me, and unironically use Gentoo on a T43p.

What a fucking nigger jew tard Slackware is shit. You being retarded and not knowing how to install drivers isn't a actual problem.

Kubuntu

What's unity and why Ubuntu better without it

>it autistically complains about missing firmware even with the nonfree iso.
I installed it on a desktop and a laptop and cannot second this. Maybe your hardware is some alien toaster.

Hi Zoomer. Ubuntu used to have a DE called Unity. It was shit, and what they started making it good, they scrapped the project.

>gentoo
>put required firmware in /lib/firmware
>works
>slackware
>works already because they don't give a shit about including nonfree firmware
>void
>same as slackware

>debian nonfree
>installer just hangs
>wpa_supplicant doesn't work in console
>need to explicitly restart the service from syscuckd to change driver
>finally works
>slow as shit
>"universal operating system"
Garbage distro of the worst kind

>Maybe your hardware is some alien toaster.
So much for the universal operating systemâ„¢.

I have the X230T and have always been annoyed by the shitty touch experience I had with Loonix (have tried Xfce and KDE so far). If Android does not cause any problems it would be a great option for dual booting. Anybody else can confirm this is good?

>inb4 install Windows or try GNOME

hell, no!

The non-free images work for me even on shitty realtek cards from 2008
What the fuck are you doing user?

After using linux for a long time debian tends to be the favored distro.
any quirk it has can be easily worked around, it's very quick to install and automates tedious things, plus it has sid for your desktop and stable for your servers.

Trisquel/Dragora/Gnu Parabolla?Guixsd

But which Linux distribution works flawlessly with Optimus thickbads?
