No. Use wireguard

why do we have this thread like 3 times a day? if it's free then the service operators have no incentive to not hand your ass to advertisers and/or any interested parties. $3 a month for PIA isn't gonna break the piggy bank unless you're in brazil some other low income hellhole. or just use a private tracker and don't worry about copyright trolls.

>doesn't understand the post
>complains
Ok, retard.

How can torrenting be illegal. By that logic your country should ban the Internet altogether.

I'm sorry I don't understand your autistic meme shitposting user, being a neurotypical is hard

Why torrenting is illegal in your country?

Try not living in a country governed by illiterates and witch doctors.

Just rent some random not to expensive v-server and torrent everthing onto it, than setup ftp so you get get your torrented files.

>Torrenting is illegal in my country
Hahaha

Just shell out a couple bucks and get a decent vpn.

torrent debian
get raped in jail

This

Go on

Go on with what, the fact is getting added to the kernel?
The fact Linus himself is impressed by it which almost never fucking happens?
The fact it's far faster & easier to setup than open VPN?

I posted that. Wireguard has more readable code, smaller, possibly faster and adding it to the kernel is genius

use encryption in torrent client settings

Psiphon.exe
Never got caught yet

It's what I use to post on Jow Forums from my phone since they've banned almost every TMobile IP range years ago. OpenVPN is pretty easy to set up and has client methods for every OS that matters (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS)

everyone laugh at this clown

>Hurrr durr i don't understand technology so ur dum
Nice, m8. Nice.

>your country should ban the Internet altogether.
They do.

Meant to reply to this cunt

You posted what? Those quoted posts are me except the "go on"
But ya all of that is correct. It's not possibly faster it's like 4 times faster (tested)

>be me
>boss wants me to send large files ~73 GiB
>set up magnet link and start torrenting
>internet was shutdown and we got notified of illegal internet usage
>tfw I got fired
The land of the free.

Not an argument.

What
Just use syncthing instead of leaking all your data

Second part is a Reply to you:

so op was asking whether the de-facto standard vpn suite is secure on an irish cross stitch pattern sharing website? and you're calling *me* technologically illiterate?

Not. An. Argument.

How's asking a question somehow a non argument?

How the fuck does that even happen.

ISPs don't care if you torrent, they just care when content owners notify them that your IP is downloading/seeding copyrighted material.
Shit like linux distros get distributed via torrents. Nobody's getting their internet cut for that, unless they're uploading terabytes which is a whole different issue.

Also wtf are you torrenting that shit for? Just use SCP, and don't have your files spewed across the internet.

>PIA
Kek, OK officer, thanks for the tip

While wireguard has potential and looks good, AFAIK it hasn't been properly tested yet. Until that happens I'd stay with openvpn.

*tips tin foil fedora*

>pay 3 bucks a month to a company that is the government's bitch
>they will keep you safe
You're a fucking idiot mate. If you want a VPN it can't be a company based in a shithole country, so PIA is one of the worst top 3, if not the first. Your ideal VPN would be Rwanda, Zimbabwe or somewhere close.

Yes.
Personally I use PPTP VPN for that cause it's just faster (though most claim the other way round).
The free service most of the time is infested by other users so the speed is crap and connectivity unstable. Just get some VPN for $5-10/mo.
Lastly, a VPN service could be a honeypot and usually they are, but its main focus is catching real blackhat (or political activists in some countries like China or Russia). They won't go after some torrent user. You of course are free to dismiss this fact and listen to privacy shills here but then you have no other option I can think of, cause other solutions will eat the speed reducing it to < 1 mbps.
I have to add I never seed. Maybe if you're active the govt will fuck you. In that case better buy a seedbox using crypto + a VPN with TOR perhaps with some additional proxies in the middle.

Where are you from? What kind of punishments have they handed out?

> government's bitch
> couldn't give logs to FBI after being given a subpoena because they weren't keeping any
okay kid
if you want strong anonymity you should be tor, not a service run by a pooinloo

why not rent a VPS and setup OpenVPN on it? it seems that's what all pay service VPNs do anyways

Yeah torrenting is illegal here too but the ISPs like your money more than they care about the law

Do this.

My friends and I split a $18/mo server with dedicated 100/100 network and 2TB of disk.
Works great for downloading/seeding torrents and you can VPN through it if you're using some internet that is filtered or you don't trust.

I'm sure it won't do much against NSA/FBI Snowden type shit, but nobody is going through the work to see who is seeding the complete top gear collection.

>official version says they couldn't give logs to FBI after being given a subpoena because they weren't keeping any
FTFY

What the fuck?
Which country does this so I can avoid ever stepping in that abomination?

> IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!!!!!

>friends can see all the interracial porn you've been downloading

what if i got a vpn that is based entirely in the us but the catch is its private?

I have a vps i use for other purposes but have no idea if services like linode and aws are bound by the same laws pia and nordvpn are.

Issue with that is how unique your VPS' IP will be. Regardless if you have a static or dynamic IP, it's a unique address. So then whoever cares just has to see who owns that server. If you purchase a VPN service you are buying anonymity because there are more than 1 or 2 people on that IP address.

until that VPN service provides information about it's clients, and even the ones that say they don't keep logs end up doing so
also, if the service is based in a 14 eyes country your fucked because whatever agency wants your data will eventually get it/log it when they put enough pressure on said VPN service

totally deserve that desu
systemd fags need to me raped and taught a lesson

One benifit of living in a third world cunt is that nobody gives a fuck about piracy(unless it's a recent national film)

kill yourself you shill subhuman

>he downloads porn
LMAOing at your life

THIS
I deleted my porn folder, no reason for it

Then you answered your own question

Last time I checked, torrenting was still just file sharing, why the fuq is it illegal?

isn't PPTP that deeply flawed VPN protocol from stone ages? Ipredator used it, which led to ips leaking.
