I'd rather not, but thanks for the suggestion

nah, my thinkpad doesn't turn me on enough.

What's that OS on the top monitors? Is that Solaris or AIX with CDE?

>paying six figures a year for a fucking computer
Apple ain't got nothin' on this shit.

I dunno, sorry.

Bloom((((berg))))

are those terminals custom hardware?
I thought Bloomberg was just like some Level1 subscription service

Listen, thou lying Girgashite, for you will be turned into a pillar of salt! Thinkpad is the best laptop in terms of usability, price and support.

Oh hey I used to intern at Bloomberg. The terminals are fun to use once you get the hang of them.

Looks like solaris to me as well

>(((Bloomberg)))
Good goy.

>windows
\G\ btfo!

Bloomberg terminals are interesting beasts and I dig their style, but
a) no one on Jow Forums has any use for them
b) and most certainly not the funds for them, but mostly
c) they are a totally different thing from thinkpads, you retard.

The monitors and keyboards are custom, I think. The software is just a JavaScript thin client running on Windows these days.

>a JavaScript thin client running on Windows these days
so impossible to haXor then, you be sayin..

There's nothing to hack.

Serious question. Does anyone has any clue how much to rent a Bloomberg terminal/ year?

Like 24k a year

About $25k per user per year

$26k, at least.
user auth ? theoretically, of course.

This is my home setup.

Some Unix shit to run some proprietary application that they haven't had the dev budget to decom yet. Most banks still have shitty applications.

Previous poster here. Mine is $2.2k/month. You get the software and analytics.

I would say $27k

I used to service these back when I was working helpdesk at uni. Fun times. I think like 3 people on the entire campus actually knew how these things worked lmao.

>home setup
Please elaborate.

They run some interesting keyboards.

>all these fucking charts and I’m still losing money

so tell me something, always wondered,
if you are trading from home, how to stop yourself going near the damn thing when you're drunk?
>gee, think ahll go drunk option shitbuying

>imagine being this mad about some else's preferences

but i do

we have a bunch of bloomberg keyboards at work (and licenses of course) but no bloomberg monitors, we just use shitty lenovo ones. the fancy monitors and keyboards aren't required for running the terminal software but the keyboards have some extra buttons that can be useful. more people are moving to the bloomberg anywhere license where you can log in on any computer or mobile device.

you'll need to hack pic related

eikon is shit (but cheap)

it would be very painful

what did he mean by this
