Well, I've got Win7, removed all the telemetry, FIREWALL'd.com it's connection to Kikerosoft because I don't really need any updates anymore and if I do I download them by myself. Also disabled Intel Mangement Engine and all the pre-installed programs that the system doesn't need to run. Basically stripped it down to the very basics.
Ended up with a tiny install and a well-working operating system.
pros:

>easy to maintain and work on due to previous experience using it
>easy to customize, really don't see what everyone keeps sperging out over
>excellent and aesthetically pleasing GUI with quality management tools embedded into file manager

That's from around 2007, a time when Nvidia made a bunch of defective chips that particularly failed a lot in laptops. The solder inside connecting the bonding wires was bad and would crack from repeated heat/cool cycles, making more resistance and more heat, making the problem worse until it finally failed.

Calm thy mammaries anoj, I was joking. In all seriousness, I've used Debian and Ubuntu and they're both great in their own ways, especially for work and productivity. But work's for work and when it comes to entertainment software there's no topping the wide plethora that windows has available.
Both have their pros and cons, and for entertainment I much rather use windows.
