Just get a thinkpad under $150 and save yourself the worry

buy yourself a bog standard lappy - do a LOT of research 1st tho, make sure you know if you can put more ram in, watch disassembly vids on yt for the model you want so you know how to take it apart to put ram ssd in and then buy separately ram and ssd.

For you budget you should be able to get a halfway decent $800 laptop with dedicated graphics, a 512gb ssd and 8-16gb of sodimm

my three year old dell inspiron can handle Battlefield V pretty well. that laptop is a piece of shit and I wouldn't really recommend it. (build quality is shit and it keeps crashing on me)

I am looking for budget gaming laptop too. So after reading some reviews:

Asus: Just stay away. Cooling design is bad, overheats.

Msi: Too expensive for it's specs. You can get something better for same price.

Dell: LCD panel is bad, other than that it's decent.

Acer: Generally good, temps could be better but doesn't overheat. I didn't like the design.

Xiaomi: Best one imo but no service so. Good LCD, fast SSD, great classy looking design, best cooling, you may even overclock but there is a big but. No service or warranty.

I will get either Dell g5/g7 or Xiaomi.

Not OP but it's what ive been looking at too. I'm gonna be travelling overseas and need something to work on (i work in toonboom and premier/AE).

The problem im having is despite these great specs, all these god damn laptops have the shittiest screens with really bad gamuts. The only "good" quality screens im finding are like in macbooks pro, or 4k panel laptops that dont have a 8750h cpu.

I've been trying to figure out on lcd replacement panels a good high gamut panel with 300+ nits of brightness to replace in the montior but im finding dick.
