How come nobody here knows how to write a random number generator in Fortran?

Not doing your homework

I don't do cs though.

I'll rephrase, why doesn't anyone here know how to do anything in Fortran? It was one of the original high level programming languages and it rhymes with Jow Forums.

>why doesn't anyone here know how to do anything in Fortran?
Because it's main use was a retard filter in the 70's

Anybody with the most middling acquaintance of procedural programming languages will have very little trouble reading and understanding Fortran. (BASIC is essentially simplified Fortran.) You could be productive coding in it in a week or so.

People who do have better things to do.

I do though, plasma simulations are intensive

Most of us who actually know languages like these are busy fucking with them instead of seeking attention in /dpt/

Because COBOL pays better.

As the man said:
You can do anything in Fortran,
but if you can't you can do it in Assembler.
If you can't do it in Assembler it's probably not worth doing.
Most of NASA's projects, the earliest glorious ones, were done in Fortran.

It's primarily used for scientific programming where speed of array access, manipulation and float calculations are key. Jow Forums hardly cares about those things.

You can't program a random number generator. Only Pseudorandom.

i spent four years using this shit.
not any day more.

Fortran's my strongest language

>What is hwrng

its* looks like grammar is a good retard filter too

test

PROGRAM RNG
PRINT '(A)', '5'
* The number above was randomly generated
STOP
END

rekt haha amarite

Huh, is this 1981 or what.

My brother in law does.

lol
