i'm not a nervelet

My wrist pain is pretty bad, but apparently its not carpal tunnel. Its some other mystery disease that is murdering me and no doctor or technology can detect, and no pain killer and anti-inflammatory drug can fix. I am very unhappy.

Is it true that you can be genetically immune to carpal tunnel?
Over the past year I've had a new sitting arrangement with a new desk, my wrist is at a pretty bad angle (with the knuckles upwards towards me, not the other way) and I play MMOs day in and out, sometimes 20 hours straight, lots of macro keys and chatting. Yet I have not had anything remotely to carpal tunnel or even pain after long play sessions, just mild discomfort while playing that passes quickly.

...

I'm using vim, so I'm fine.

Really well

how do you get this?

Carpal tunnel usually comes around from typing like a retard or using a mouse, the brace you can get at just about any drug store or on eBay

interested because i practically live in front of my computer, contorted into strange shapes but have yet to experience any pain in my extremities

lucky ou

I got one of those Mouse wrist rest things laying around, do these actually help?

I was wondering if a vertical mouse woud reduce carpal tunnel pain.

It comes from holding your wrist at a positive angle while your tendons slide repeatedly through a constriction that isn't there when your wrist is at a negative angle. In this picture, Obama's wrist is at an entirely negative angle. In fact there is nothing positive about the image at all; it is entirely negative.

I rarely use the mouse and instead do a lot of keyboard navigation with a way of typing that loosely resembles the 10 finger touch typing system, but doesn't murder your hands, and I don't use emacs, so I have yet to experience this

was literally just looking it up as my right pinky finger/the palm of my hand immediately below it keeps going numb

i reckon its cubital tunnel syndrome rather than carpal, and probably because the mouse i use at work is too small and also kind of shit

anyone got any experience ?

It's probably just that you've subconsciously acquired the habit of not doing whatever carpal tunnelers do when using mouse/keyboard. Possibly angles, possible tensions, who knows. I've also never had any sign of it, whereas others I know who use computers way less gets it.

That was me at 20.
Me at 30 is boneitis maximus.

Almost 40 and no problems here.

Improve while you're young and it's not too late

>i've been staring at computer screens daily for 20 years and my vision is still perfect, does that mean i'm genetically immune to eye damage from computer screens?
that's some retarded logic you have there. just because you're not feeling anything yet doesn't mean you're not causing any damage. it might still happen.

>Improve while you're young
just had my 30th birthday but thanks for your concern anyways, user

>anyone got any experience ?
Yes, it sucks.
If I hold my affected arm up with my thumb pointing towards my chest and with my elbow bent outward, I can feel a constriction at my elbow and a funny pinky finger.
So far, I'm working with a physio on relieving stress from my arm. My dominant arm's shoulder is tense thanks to years of crappy postures and bad mouse habits.

Using Emacs

It's not about nerves.

he said while spillig the pashgetti

You've got some nerve

Cured with this simple exercise

t. reddit

You didn't even bother to change the color to make it look more friendly. Lazy ass.

>cured
This is a test to diagnose tendonitis or however its called. It doesn't cure anything, it shows the doctor examining you if you are inflamated there.

Modern medicine is still in the dark ages. I had severe pain in all the joints of both of my arms and hands for 5 years, and this book cured it. Sounds like BS, but it works and is cheap.

Eh. Some days are good, some days are not.

is this the book that says everything can be corrected by inserting variable object into the anus?

>headache = apple peels
>abdominal pain = pencil shavings
>pain of the soul = anti-personnel grenade

I was desperate enough to try acupuncture, I'll try this.

IT pro here. Never have had any problems with that in many years.

What on earth are you dunderheads doing with your fishy hands??

Good thank you

>works on my system :)

The most utterly retarded argument.
People are built differently.

nonexistant

Nascent Iodine / Protein / Calcium / Vitamin D / C / Glucosamine / MSM but most of them are found in meat

These may or may not help

I was desperate enough to read this. It's total bs.

Thank me later nerds

People that feel pain should fucking do something about it before whining on an imageboard.

I've done everything about it. People who have no fucking clue should choke on rusty nails before giving advice.

I've been sitting on my ass using computers for ~25ish years and I've never had and problems of any sort. No wrist problems, no back problems, no eye problems. Nothing.

No one gives a shit about your pansy wrists so why don't you just suck it up, limpy.

Exactly that. Stay in shape, sit straight, don't be a limp-wristed fatass.

That's all there's to it.

Only 18 and already have it in my left hand

Fuck my life :(

Ironically thats a very limp-wristed excuse for an argument. You should've gathered the dignity to not respond at least, when you have nothing to say.

My nintendo switch hurt my wrist pretty bad. I wore a brace amd slept with it on and took glucosamine for a month and it went back to normal

You want to know a weird thing? For a while months ago I was having some but then , fucking scald burned my wrist/arm (still got a bit of discolor in spots takes long time to fully heal this sorta thing) and I guess because I had the bitch wraped up so much, it stopped

I don't have it because I lift everyday fag

ate ibuprofen near daily for a year and thankfully pain just stopped. now ofc i get upper gi bleeding when i drink but still worth it

>mfw i thought i had carpal tunnel syndrome because of twitchiness and nerve pain
>turns out it's just multiple sclerosis

Attached: 1530528078986.jpg (640x793, 37K)

Porn has made me entirely ambidextrous when using a computer.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT YOU FUCKING IDIOT I JUST DID THIS AND BROKE MY WRIST YOU FUCKING PATHETIC KEK I HOPE YOU BURN IN HELL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I have none

>diet consists mostly of chicken, vegetables, milk, cereal, and tons of water (2-4 liters a day)
>go to the gym 3-5 times a week and do only weight lifting with free weights
>skateboard and motorcycle around for transportation. Don't drive (sold my car last cause it was a waste of money)
>if I get a little fat I just intermittent fast for a month and lose up to 15 lbs
>can play videogames for 16 hours straight and the only pain I get is my eyes getting a little dry

I'm 6'3" and weigh 215lbs. Just take care of your body and it will take care of you.

Oh and I don't consume any drugs, like alcohol and caffeine. I only take mdma two to three times a year

I use Atom, not Emacs.

By ignoring the pain, it doesn't decrease your efficiency when you realize it's just a harmless natural reaction and keep that mindset, you know the cause for it and it doesn't physically distract you.

never got it, been typing like shit since 97

used to hunt and peck, got really fast too in Yahoo! Chat. Eventually took typing, i dont do it perfect and i dont hold my wrists up and everything works a treat

It's actually very logical, some people are genetically better built against certain environments. Genetics is a lottery.
Doesn't matter if you stare at a screen / bend your wrist daily or not, if you have good vision of slightly different wrists, you will have good vision and still working wrists 20 years after, while someone else will would not, doesn't matter if you stare at a screen or not.

Couldn't be better.
I even out the workload by using the mouse with the right hand and jerking off with the left.

>Modern medicine is still in the dark ages
I agree. Our idea of fixing teeth is drilling holes through them and filling them up with cement.
