it should eventually reach 100%, as there is also an upper voltage limit as well, which the battery will eventually reach, and the phone can detect this
Brody Gomez
to be clear, the actual time to charge/discharge won't change, only the estimates i said 'eventually' simply because the time it tells you until it's charged will also be inaccurate, for the same reason
David Fisher
That's what motivated me to ask , I am assuming that is right that the phone can detect a fully charged battery by tracking the voltage?

github.com/openwrt/packages/tree/master/net/adblock/files I want to block ads on a router level. I have a WRT1900AC configured with openwrt and luci. It's that link the best version to use, or is there a fork that is better. In using this, will it also block youtube ads on other devices in the network?
I have lineage os on my phone but it won't notify me everytime a new build becomes available despite the fact that I enabled it in the settings. Could any of you help me fix this?

Does anyone know how to view images in compressed file on w10 the same way you could like in w7? Its really slow opening up each image individually.
Caleb Kelly
You could always do that, provided the compressed file is a .zip

What are safe temps for a 1066 card? MSI Gaming. I'm getting 68* peak in W3 on ultra, is this fine?
Oliver Green
Depends entirely on what you want to do in IT.
Yes, this is safe. The nvidia site says 100 celsius is the maximum safe temperature for most cards.

does it make any difference at all performance wise if i do this SomeObject obj; for(...){ obj = new SomeObject(...); }
versus for(...){ SomeObject obj = new SomeObject(...); }
in this case it's java, but does it make any difference at all for other languages as well?

Pornhub is causing my browser to lock up. Pretty much nothing will load once I visit the site. Tried using noscript just in case there was a malicious scrip. There is a tracker and when the main site script and the other script site script are allowed it will work fine for a bit but once I go to a few pages it will locks up the browser again. This issue was happening with imgur too but they seem to have fixed it. What other steps can I take to figure out why the site is completely fucking up my browser. I've already did virus and malware scans.

Anything besides a cable between the teachers and students switches that can explain this?
How to downgrade a package with the required dependency? The new chromium version 69 is so ugly and resource consuming, but reinstalling the version 68 prevent it from launching because of incompatible new library
Matthew Rogers
Forgot to add. I'm using arch and reinstalling the older version via pacman cache is the cause of the library incompatibility

How do I make a form postpone submission until a series of confirm dialogs all return true that are called by an AJAX query?
I have a form where a user can select items from a database. I want to prompt the user if they want to create items they've entered that don't exist before submitting the form. If they say OK, I modify the info to a format that will trigger this process in the controller and submit. Otherwise, I don't modify it and won't submit the form.
What happens when I run my code is the form submits without waiting for the confirm boxes called by AJAX to receive a response. The code looks something like pic related.

What are some good tech focused audiobooks/audio tutorials to listen to?
I go on long walks, and I have a podcast I like to listen to, but most podcasts annoy the shit out of me. I'd rather just listen to a single person talking about shit. Any recommendations?
My phone keeps dying when the battery indicator is somewhere between 25 and 30%. I assume it's just lost capacity over time, but is there any way I can make it display an accurate measure?

My PC has been freezing up for minutes at a time when launching programs and sometimes just launching menus from programs.
At first I suspected I was paying the price for installing a third stick of ram in addition to my original kit. 5 passes through memtest86+, not a single error.
Then I suspected that it was a hard drive failure since it is 5 years old now. But I also have trouble with some (but not all) programs on my SSD, so that's secondary if indeed that issue exists at all.
Now I'm down to Windows. Every time I run an sfc, it reports a corrupted file "C:\Windows\system32\wbem\aeinv.mof". It also claims to have repaired it from store. But if I run another sfc, the same file is reported as corrupted and then reported as repaired. Could this be the root of my problem? And if so, can I just grab that file off a computer with the same OS? I'd rather avoid a fresh install.

APPLE MAC (tm) question:
i have a 1TB disk partitioned into 1x250gb and 1x750gb. it's my old windows disk.
can i use disk utility to delete the 250gb partition and reformat it to exFAT (so i can use the drive on windows and mac) without fucking up the other partition? i tried mounting the drive with FUSE already to get read/write access as a NTFS drive but it doesn't work for some reason.

Anyone have any experience with failed HDDs. How long do I have left. Can I save my files?
Do I look like a fortune teller? Have backups. Two at the very least for sensible data. Do not trust that drive. It could fail in 5 hours, two days or three years. I'd use it for some video archive and nothing else.
Zachary Bailey

Here is some more data
It was my backup. I would keep it in my PC but never actively use it. Power settings would have it turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity. But sometimes it would wake up on it's own.
>It was my backup. I would keep it in my PC Then it wasn't a backup. Physical isolation is essential. At the very least you need it somewhere else in your house with backups done via network. Also if you were using it as a second copy, just get a new drive and re-copy your files from the main one.

What is a good mobile device for reading .pdf files of books? I don't know what to search and can only find programs.
Some kind of tablet. Casual reading? Glossy / matte, does not matter so much. Get one that you are comfortable with, and then look about screen resolution and other quality of life stuff. I'd suggest a Kindle or something with eink for longer reads or just to have it for that purpose alone. Try one out if you can on a local store.
Daniel Ross
Fan's broken, fan header's broken, or fan's disabled in UEFI/BIOS.

>Some kind of tablet Like, the really big phones that aren't phones? >a Kindle or something with eink I thought those had problems with .pdf and that the automatic converters sucked.

Go to salvage yard. Ask for leather bucket seat. Use old chair base, possibly order shorter chair piston if too tall, get necessary bolts and plywood to mount bucket seat. Car seats have something most office chairs dont, spring supported cushions so your ass isn't digging into the base after a year. You can cover your bucket seat with a seat cover and throw it in the wash to clean the cheetos crumbs off and extend the life of your seat. I've been using a leather seat of a 89 lebaron for...15-20 years.

So, I'm getting my hands on a few pis and I was thinking about creating a cluster. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of bottle necking, if any, I would run into if I was just using 2x [Pi 3B] and 1x[Pi B+ v1.2]. I'll mostly just be using it to ssh into my desktop in the other room and monitoring weather/stocks/etc. (Although, I'll still probably do tons of other shit).

My CS professor says we're gonna actually work with Github this year. What's a quick rundown on how it works
Charles Russell
Git Gud before you GitHub
Alexander Flores
rtfm, you fucking idiot. Also, don't use github, run your own git server and write a blog about how it went, then brag to your professor about how you fucking hate microsoft and shit on his desk, then change your major you dumb nigger. But seriously, it's really simple just rtfm. `info git`

I know the basics. I'm just trying to make a bridged connection so the terminal isnt fucking useless. None of the options are clickable, though.
Thomas Anderson
How could it possibly is edgy? >shit on his desk I was clearly joking about this. But everything else is fine. You show your professor you have convictions, you're standing by them and going the extra mile to run your own server. You're writing up a blog post in order to refine what you learned and share it with others, as one should. And changing your major because CS is an actual joke and you'll have an easier time with a math degree and a minor in CS. Read the manual because if you just learn how to clone and commit, you aren't even using git all that well. There are branches and other concepts that are useful. You can have a "prod" and a "dev" branch at the very minimum, and I highly recommend this., and I'm sure others would attest to the same thing. Maybe "edgy" means "true".
