Best feature of KDE

It's great but by far not the best. In a DE as feature packed as KDE there's an unending stream of "new best features" to discover.

Doesn't gnome have the same thing?

lolwhat Windows has had that forever

now there are 3 ways to change the volume

This, I've been managing my volume like that since Windows 95 lol

Welp, I've officially outgrown Jow Forums. Its been a long 12 years. Peace.

>kde feature
more like a pulse feature allowing you to have separate sinks, just install pavucontrol

I like how you can set up the volume by just scrolling over the icon, helps a lot on a dual monitor setup when you're on full screen app that quits if it loses focus.

Windows has had it since before I was born.

Windows 7 has been doing this for years.

>try kde 5 in 2015
>resize panel
>it glitches
>2018 today
>try again with latest version
>still glitches
absolutste state

Windows mixer is not as good, if you drag an application volume over the device level it drags the device too which is a mess.

Haven't used win10, but KDE also breaks down firefox audio streams into their own slider.

>Want music to be louder
>Device volume is set to low
>Raise music volume over device level
>Device volume raising accordingly
Don't see anything wrong here.

xfce has this too. It just makes it so the volume button doesnt work past a certain threshold and that's kinda annoying.

KDE file picker has trouble when a folder contains thousands of files. Also has no search function at all.
GTK is better if you dont care about muh thumbnails.

Some programs set the volume to 100 by default, enjoy your tinnitus.

>what is PulseAudio

I agree!

Not only does the KDE team strive to deliver quality services and features frequently, they also manage to keep stability a major selling point of their Linux Distribution. As a professional, I can't imagine getting all my workload done without that KDE signature quality and efficiency in my back pocket. I tell everyone with an ear to listen about this wonderful Linux desktop experience!

I don't get it. Xfce has this too.

I believe you need an extension, otherwise it's pavucontrol which is a bit annoying.

Is this the official PoetteringWare™ thread?

>You need an extension
Nope

GNOME is way better

To change application volume in a panel applet instead of a seperate window? Must be a new addition then. Last time I used Gnome that required an extension.

So when can I group my playback streams in a hierarchic tree structure?

>Best feature of KDE
>not showing the only working, glorious MS Paint clone

No, they don't. Programs can't set device volume.
