Well if you knew what you were doing it'd be more like building/repairing a car. Mechanics probably dont get the most satisfaction out of repairing cars all day, but at least they understand and sometimes they like doing what they do (plus they make a bunch of money scamming the shit out of you)

Programming is a means to an end, not an end by itself.
There are people who enjoy programming itself, as it's composed of several pieces that fit together (programming languages, compilers, algorithms, etc.), but often what people like is making things.
If you have NOTHING you like, then the boring thing is you, not programming.
