Why aren't you using the official video player of japanime?

The official Maki video player.

so i'm getting a 4k monitor soon, what are the best settings for movie watching? on gtx 1060 6gb

profile=gpu-hq
scale=ewa_lanczossharp
cscale=ewa_lanczossharp
deband=yes
hwdec=no

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki

>hwdec=no
why tho

Use d3d11 if you're on windows. People say to use swdec if your CPU can handle it because hwdec can possibly cause wrong output (very rare). Using hwdec with d3d API is safe though. Using hwdec is fine even without d3d too but if you ever notice any issues disable hwdec to see if thats the culprit.

oh, not on windows

Ignore that one, I wasn't thinking, you can set it in auto.

>another one to add to the filter
filthy generals

Hardware decoding is broken garbage most of the time

how to have pic/logo when audio file plays

if i use hwdec=vdpau it gives me the best results, specially in lower cpu usage

I tried hwdec=no and it only used about 5% cpu usage and had quite a bit less artifacts.

mine did the opposite, cpu usage around 2.5x as much as vdpau

How does youtube-dl tells mpv how much is buffered? How can I do it in a pipe?

Attached: Screenshot from 2018-09-06 02-33-28.png (404x86, 29K)

youtube-dl is only used for catching relevant data
The actual video buffering is done by something else. I forgot which one it was, exactly but i think it's an ffmpeg component.

I really wanted to do it in a pipe, but that's a great post thanks.

Modern anime is so fucking ugly.

>most of the time
Wrong

how do I make mpv expect a video stream?
80% of the time when playing a stream it will see the audio and start playing it and then realize there is video too, but never actually plays the video
a small % of the time it realizes there is video too early enough that it actually plays it, which results in having to open a stream, wait a few seconds, close/open, wait, close/open, ... 5 times until it actually works

wtf? Never had anything like this happen. If you're not trolling somethings fucked on your end. Make sure mpv and ytdl are updated.

I need to play a stream that needs a cookie (registered user and pass).
youtube-dl.exe has an option --cookie cookie.txt that works well.

But I tried mpv option --cookies-file=cookies.txt but it seems ytdl_hook won't use it.
I also tried changing the 'command' variable on ytdl_hook.lua with --no-ytdl but it didn't work.

Any ideas?

I made a Squircle icon for mpv-android

Attached: Screenshot_Nova_Launcher_20180906-143755.png (720x1280, 1.17M)

>the absolute state of Linux cucks
Don't have this problem with d3d11va

Ok I found it myself. Using --ytdl-raw-options=cookies=cookies.txt works!

how do you resize video in mpv using console?

every key shortcut should work on console/terminal.

--geometry=1280x720

You failed to mention that your Squircle is purple.

and?

And that makes it a purple squircle.

And?

What's the correct option to force PAL videos to be played at 24 fps? Tried
video-sync-max-audio-change=5.00
video-sync-max-video-change=5.00
but it didn't work (PAL to NTSC speeddown is about 4%).

mpv still can't handle non sRGB screens well

You tried
speed=0.96
audio-pitch-correction=no
?

nope

IT FUCKING RHYMES

No, but I will try that, thanks!

>not one but TWO (2) shortcuts to the standard notes app on homescreen
patrician taste

Do you guys think a Intel HD 520 would be enough to use Debanding and spline36?

Attached: 10699e30c7e3fdd399994e9358791adf4dc19f9a01efa53b2e2c23c2a1350ce2.jpg (569x604, 270K)

I had 0 issues on my HD 530, but I don't know the performance difference to a 520.
I ran ewa_lanc..sharp, I do not know how much more hungry that scaler is, I assume more.

get out

Attached: logo-256x256.png (256x256, 31K)

On my old asus laptop (Intel HD 4600) i use [/code]profile=gpu-hq (spline36 + deband) AND interpolation and i don't have any issues

>find good looking GUI for windows
>author believes a small not eye-catching progress bar should always be visible, even in full screen
THIS IS NOT FAIR BROS.
Macfags have IINA
Lincucks have Deepin
Winblows has nothing at all

GUIs are bloat.

which gui?

best way to upscale 720p/1080p content for a 4k monitor?

thanks frens

Ugly, generic and poorly animated.

Who do we blame?

Hi gramps.

fsrcnnx

>fsrcnnx
what about SSimSuperRes

Is there any way to use mpv with AMD Fluid Motion?

No. You can also try RAVU.

Jews, I guess. Btw I don't even watch chink cartoon. Anyway, mpv windowns build finally has window border, and even tabs?

Attached: MerchantSG.gif (500x270, 1000K)

I set up a syncplay server on my server with MPV.
Then I just torrent the movies/anime and watch it with my neet friends

Attached: unknown.png (1600x900, 1.67M)

>RAVU
thanks, that seems to work without issues and looks decent

Dumbfuck shitskin.

Use it with
--player-operation-mode=pseudo-gui
then you can DnD files on it.
And you will also have the OSC for seeking using the mouse if you for some reason prefer that to using the keyboard.

mpv easy or something like that

is there any way to solve the playlist issue without a gui? I mean it's really hard to change the order of the playlist and add new videos currently, if not impossible. is there a way to make a osd playlist manager?

>Full FSRCNN network 56-16-4-1 would probably be the optimal option, but it's too slow without MRT support in mpv.
Damn why is it still not implemented?

donate to haasn's patreon first

madshi > haasn

Font?

madshi's paid math genius > haasn XD

Is it supposed to be better than NGU Sharp?

I play podcasts on youtube with mpv -no-video url command
Is there an option that adds repeat? ie once end of the stream is reached it starts back at 0:00. Tried -repeat but doesn't work

I AM UNDER 30

based filterer of threads

i tried MPHC/VLC for a 4k MKV file ive got, both lagged like fuck
MPC worked perfectly
thanks Jow Forums

>paid math genius
This gets me every time.

Never used mpv but maybe there's something like --loop?

I don't remember, I think it's IPAGothic.

Nice ad hominem you got there, rabbi.

This is cool. How did you set everything up?

Can mpv mirror/flip the video horizontally? I've looked through the documentation and the scripts section but can't find anything on this.

and I thought Lain posters were intelligent.

mpv --vf=vflip

is there any way to make smplayer play nice with mpv scripts?
specifically ones that activate on keybind i.e. autocrop

You can use ffmpeg filters
ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg-filters.html#hflip

vf=hflip

ctrl+f no-osd vf toggle hflip

so i'm reading RAVU is designed for anime, what's a good upscaler for live action movies?

spline36
or fsrcnnx if you must
