What does Jow Forums think of Pop! OS?
>Actually gear towards dev productivety
>Nice UI
>Muh Linux
Inb4 shill
I honestly want to know the opinions on this.
What does Jow Forums think of Pop! OS?
I think I have no reason to use it over something like Ubuntu.
Never heard of it.
Logo is fucking retarded.
I think they were going for an FLCL vibe
I just use Ubuntu 18.10 desu, Ubuntu is very nice to use as default now.
I miss the Solus threads. They were way better than this shit.
Looks like something targeted towards women or gays
I'm not a big fan of the Ubuntu because of my bias towards canonical
I prefer Debian because I want my wife's boyfriend to fuck me in the ass but atleast it's stable
It's basically an Ubuntu clone that got its Gnome a bit tweaked and put a cloud storage per default under the hood.
It's ok for newbies or people that prefer "just werks" distros. Jow Forums doesn't like it, cause it'll be outmemed by Arch/Gentoo/I3/etc as soon as brought up.
same
I use it, but this is very this.
I don't understand the mentality of disliking "just werks" distros.
As a front end web dev I'd prefer something that works as intended out if the box.
What is there to gain from hating simplicity?
banter. take it with a grain of salt
>where‘s the gain
For vir/g/ins, just works equals bloat because theres some stuff running that makes it, well, just work
Been running it for a year.
It's pretty comfy.
>needing a gui
>USING a gui
Terry would be ashamed
Install solus, Kevin.
it's something i'm considering putting on my mother's laptop (this isn't an insult)
>not using a GUI
>debian stable
*cracks*
*sip*
Yet another ubuntu derivative, yikes
I've decided to use Ubuntu for my Unix/Linux class so I know I won't have issues with any packages I may need.

They should be sued for trademark infringement.
Optimus laptop? How did you handle the hardware switching?
>Pop!_OS
a name so shitty you can't use it just for this reason alone
>1gb by default
Might as well use windows at that point
Ubuntu allows you to run applications with the dedicated GPU now.
sounds fucking gay
GNOME 3.30 brought it down by ~300MB
Well how do you do it then? Is it in 18.10 only?
I haven't tried 18.04 yet, but it is in 18.10 beta. You just right click the application and you can click 'run with dedicated gpu' or whatever the right click dialog box says.
