I'm paying a friend 10$ for a basically brand new x240. What to do with it?

Has anyone bought a refurbished Thinkpad from Trannyboot? I'm thinking about buying one of those, but the pop-up of the website owner begging for money in order to cut his penis makes me a bit uncomfortable. It doesn't look professional or serious.

>mfw I see the new /tpg/ thread

Dude no, they're overpriced. Buy a good X200/T400 on ebay for $70 and then pay one of the flashers on there $40 to install it for you.

>tfw you run your finger around the soft rim trackpoint

who else?

>tfw I have a T440p waiting at home for me when I get off work
Let's see how long it takes for me to become completely disgusted with that touchpad. Anyone want to place a bet?

Pls someone tell me how to stop the turn on my t440p turning gay when it isn't plugged in to the power brick.

Less than five seconds, it's quite literally unusable. I replaced mine with the updated non-retard version and it's still such fucking cancer that I've completely disabled the trackpad and only use it or the TrackPoint™ buttons.

Blending the trackpad and trackpad buttons into the same thing is probably the greatest damage Apple ever caused to the consumer electronics industry.

>and only use it or the TrackPoint™ buttons.
and use it only for the TrackPoint™ buttons.

What are my books of choice for learning C, now that I have a Thinkpad to program in?

So ugly

Be nice! The X60 was a sexy beast

Yeah, I don't know what I expected to hear, I don't think I've heard one person ever ever attempt to defend that shit. I wondered back when that shit came out how the hell one would feasibly use the trackpoint with no hardware buttons and the only thing I've ever heard is "you don't lol". At least I can probably dig up some shitty mouse to use for a week till I can get one of the T450 touchpad shipped because I'm a poorfag.

It's a very /comfy/ machine to work on and upgrade. Trackpad with physical buttons can be had for $14.

Sell for 120 USD

This

have you installed Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2017?

I was replacing the trackpad on my T440S and I closed the lid with the keyboard removed as shown in a YouTube video and the keyboard cracks the 120hz 1080p touchscreen. Fuck. Me. Man. What do I do now?

not removed but loose and protruding*

I bought an x220 and I've been using MX Linux, but I don't like it tbdesu. What's a good daily driver linux distro, ideally without systemd?

Try Fedora. It's amazing. I use cinnamon instead of gnome which feels too much like a tablet UI.

I have a t440s and both batteries are a week old. My battery life is insane.
