Define stability. "Rock solid, very rarely runs into issues" or "Very steady, very rarely changes changes"? They're not the same thing.

>>Best distro for people tired of memes who just want to get shit done: Void

>Best distro for normalfags: Ubuntu

The other two I agree with.

The latter (although it can help with the former).

I don't understand why you can't have 3 computers.
2 PCs for gaming (Fagdows) and programming (Fagux Ubuntu)
and 1 for being a literal one (FagOS)

Fixed it for ya

debian is the normie distro

Yeah, 10's subtle blur on a few things is fine, the completely blurry shit in looks like some meme rice you'd see from some faggot in a desktop thread.

No, it wasn't. I started out on Slackware in the mid 90s, moved onto Red Hat and then Fedora, played around with Ubuntu for a bit but ultimately came back to Fedora.

sure...

where is the blur are you an autist

I have it on a laptop and everything Just Works™ so well that I get a feeling dread like some software doom is about to bring everything crashing down along with the thin veneer of stability I've been witnessing for the past few months.

Its literally on the taskbar you blind fuck.

was gonna say this

>sure...
I'm sorry you can't comprehend it.

I'll be honest that looks hideous to me

I'd try to replace the first and last things with things lacking systemd. Maybe PCLinuxOS for normies. Not sure about stability. Stability often just means old packages, which in my experience causes more problems, so it's kind of a weird meme. GuixSD is extremely good, Void is pretty good. I can stand behind those choices.

its just grey bar..

aham sure..

ok

Blind or retarded?

Hackerman

Best distro for stability: Slackware

Good if you don't wanna configure tools plus come prepackaged with shit tons of exploits just a meme beacuse of metasploit script kiddies

It's nice, its just Debian with hackerman tools, you can learn a lot with it. Just gets the flak because of skids. You need to create a user account though because its meant to be liveCD'd so it only has root. I get your thought process though, Linux = cool, Hackerman = cool, Linux + Hackerman = super cool, but most distros are basically the same system outside of package managers and init scripts.

this is what I do, but I have freebsd/freenas for my server as well. no need to subscribe to some team like plebs on Jow Forums

use it in a vm

>Best distro for people who want their shit to be actually done rather than massing up with obscure config files and searching around dead forums only to find out a trivial problem has no route to be resolved: Windows 7

Windows 7 is unusable for multi-monitor users, especially if each monitor has a different resolution and or refresh rate.

The levels of based you just reached are topping my Microsoft Excel charts

nigger what? I run 3 monitors on win 7
Wtf you on about

That is just a typical *nix shill. Not that I use multy-monitor setup but I seen people running it on Win7. And I am sure on Linux it does require a lot of config editing, command running and even more how-to googling just because even simple tasks require that.

I've no idea why forks and """"spins"""" kept being shat out by freetards.
I just use Ubuntu.

DEEPIN DE IS BETTER

>Best distro for normies: Fedora

I don't know. It is missing a few packages that I can find in Ubuntus package repository, and the documentation is really poor. Their documentation is full of dead links or just poorly explained stuff that leaves you just as clueless as you were before you read their documentation. More technical projects like FreeBSD, Gentoo, Arch have way better documentation than this, even something less popular like CRUX has better documentation. Both man pages and online handbooks. I haven't looked at Ubuntus, but I hope theirs is better than Fedora, since giving new users and undocumented mess is not a good way to promote a platform.

how the fuck did you customize it so good?

Fun but you can just use any distro and download the tools. They're in nearly every repo.
Not worth for a day-to-day IMO

>Best distro to install: Gentoo

No, thanks. I love freedom.
Libreboot + FDE Parabola Gnu/Linux-libre-hardened.
Nobody can hack me because ama fully opensource freetard. No blobs, no botnet, my pc my freedom etc.

Fedora is buggy. Stable and large repository, but then stuff like the package manager being unable to be opened blocks your path.
Also the commitment to free software is a pain in the ass when you just want to install stuff. It's not really a distro that just werks to the point you never need to open a terminal.

I would recommend people look elsewhere, especially noobies.

This.

Why would one choose Fedora over a (minimal) Ubuntu installation?

>>what is arandr
>GitHub - elpaso/arandr: Simple visual front end for XRandR
Ok so in Windows we just have a gui by default that works but in Linux there is that obscure XFree86 with more than billion tillion different window managers and you need a custom tool for it. The github link suggest we shall be compiling this thing from source dealing with all errors and broken dependencies.
I honestly need no confirmation to figure out you got to have extensive knowledge and a fuckload of spare time for your linux to act somehow close to a normal OS. I can even see why enthusiasts would want this, many people just enjoy doing things manually.

That's the wallpaper, retard.

What?

Up-to-date repos

Less retarded answers when you ask the community something

It depends on the distro.
I installed openSUSE recently and my multi-monitor multi-gpu setup worked perfectly out of the box.

Those are the two main reasons why I use Arch.

Literally everything about that is wrong except for the one mention of Debian.
In fact, it would be more accurate if it read like this;
>Best distro: Debian

>what is yay -S arandr
come on winfag even you can't be that stupid

What game is the gif from? /vr/ PC98 threads never seem to know

Stop shilling shitty alternatives to shitty botnets and install Gentoo already

The universal distro is not tied down to one profit-making company. It's been around forever so it's pretty much unkillable.
