I'm the guy working on modifying the MaXX desktop with sane defaults for modern Linux systems, since the dev has been gone for months. After picking through a bunch of configs and digging into whatever old docs I could find on how to do Motif programming for IRIX, I've got some basic applications of my own going.
So image related is the file explorer. The menu bar up top does nothing but show blank menus right now, none of the buttons work (though they are clickable), and the path bar is worthless for showing files. It only shows the files and folders from a directory I've temporarily defined as root. The scroll wheel "works" in that it does move but doesn't zoom any of the icons.
So that's what I've got. I'm also going to be working on a basic "run" application that's just a Motif text input box where you can run commands. I've been missing this and I'm sick of launching programs from the terminal.
