not free as in free speech, free as in communism*

this, stop using google products and every social network
just use certified free software like gnu

honest question: why do you use that addon?

Honest answer: Jow Forums told me to.

to rewrite http links to https

that's sad. you seem easily manipulated and no addon can protect you from that. educate yourself about these things.

i know what it does, nigger. that was not the question.

>Should I panic?
If you trusted it before why would you care now? There aren't any new permissions, it's just that now the addons are required to tell you what permissions they need.

you are the uneducate nigger if you don't understand why https is important

https is important, but what the fuck is the point in automatically overwriting http to https? to give you a sense of security? to save you from having to look at whether there's a green icon or a letter "s" in the URL? to make you feel like you can do stupid shit online without thinking because "muh addons will protect me"? educate me on your rationale, nigger

>what's an insecure network
>what's a mitm
>what's your isp
fuck off to your hole you uneducate piece of shit

Some sites default to serving content over HTTP when they could serve it over HTTPS.

web-extensions are so shit that in order to emulate some basic functionality addons need to inject scripts on all the pages you visit, that's why extensions that only need to add an overlay, panel etc requires access to all your websites.

But without manual reviewing you can't never be sure if the addon is legit unless you review it yourself.

No.

>mitm
as i said, if you're willing to share sensitive info over websites that aren't secured by design, then no addon can save you from you willingly doing stupid shit. if you think you're being MITM'd over static content, you're delusional.
>isp
the ISP still knows what domain you're connecting to. there are also actual ways to prevent giving this info to the ISP (hint: it's not HTTPS).

again, it seems more likely that someone like you would do some stupid incriminating shit out of ignorance, but under the sense of false security from an addon.

only fair argument so far

nobody is saying https gives you anonymity shithead, it's like saying safety belts don't save you from a meteorite so you should not use them
you're just trying to hard, literally no reason to NOT use https everywhere, it's secure and has not impact on performance

>he posted it again
Fucking kill yourself you asswipe.

And again it was fucking nothing.
Thanks for the clarification.
