Using Gentoo is much easier than manually compiling all our packages.

It's masked in testing. It means that ~arch (the testing repo) is not enough to have it.
They are basically saying they are working on it but the package still broken and not ready for testing. Of course you can unmask it if you want, but there is a reason if it is considered broken even for the testing repo.
