To hide your child porn and terrorist plans

the modern society can't exist without it, fucktard

How else would you communicate with your Russian handler without getting caught by FBI?
I leave my usb with encrypted data in a cafe near the Russian embassy. It would be awkward if somebody read the files on usb.

>why lock your front door

Well, it would suck if someone stole my phone and got access to all my sensitive information.

>Unironically, why use encryption?
To piss your employer off

so you can get in and out of your house

So my credit card information isn't stolen you fucking nigger

Neither of these are valid arguments. Nothing to hide, nothing to fear. Stop being such paranoid morons.

>baiting this hard

That's right goys, and if you have nothing to say you shouldn't care about free speech either!

OP here (trust me, i have his credit cards, documents, driver's license etc thus i'm OP) and i changed my mind.
I think security is very important.

You use encryption to hide sensitive informations, that is, hiding informations from certain people and making it avaiable for others. For example imagine you are purchasing from an online store, in that case you would have to put your credit card informations. If the website is not encrypting the traffic with tls, someone could easily get your credit card informations. You obviously dont want that.

so that only the NSA can decrypt my secret collection of child brides, whilst Jamal won't be able to massage his huge black cawk once he manages to steal my laptop

>Nothing to hide
That's patently false, everyone has quite a lot to hide.

>"nothing to hide, nothing to fear"
>says that on a website where his entire identity is anonymized

I use it to hide my shit from people who would do me harm. The fact that the government is also affected by this is just a happy accident, and frankly I'll like keep it that way.

Still haven't found a legitimate reason to use encryption. This board is filled with paranoid autists.

If you have nothing to hide, post your credit card info. Don't forget to include the expiration date and the 3 digit code on the back.

You use it for banking online, or logging into your email you stupid hypocrite

Unironically, kill yourself kike.

You just created this thread using HTTPS, so you just used encryption retard. Why are you so paranoid stupid bitch?

Literally just to piss off totalitarian cunts

I don't even do anything illegal, I just want to add another level of "fuck you" to everything I do

And, btw, every other answer is wrong.

If you do it for any other reason than "to make their jobs significantly harder or impossible", then you are gay and a faggot. And if you reason against encryption at all, for any reason, you are gay and a faggot.

I don't want to get my passwords stolen by some http nigger. I use my pc to manage my bank account, stocks etc... Browsing the web on http is like browsing the web in a public McDonalds wifi, expect to be monitored and recorded by every nigger on the block. As for the government, I don't give two shits if good ol' GĂ©rard Colomb is wanking at my webcam and copying my hentais folder.

But I didn't

There shouldn't be a door or lock that the authorities can't break through. Else it allows criminals to function without law enforcement. Encryption is the same as abolishing police.

Yeah the lock is a lawfully obtained warrant specifically detailing what is to be searched or confiscated, for how long, and why. If the key to the lock is any more broad, the lock is useless, and likely prone to others breaking in anyway

>says that on a website where his entire identity is anonymized
I think you meant to say
>where your identity is beeing monitored by google and marketed by gook moot

To keep the pigs out of your business.

Of course you have nothing to hide, because if you truly did have something to hide you wouldn't have freedom of speech or information. If we don't protect our right to privacy we won't have it when we need it.

Unironically read 1984.

>Unironically, why use encryption?
Because HIPAA legally requires it

But I have something to hide.
