Just watched this movie. While it was a good MOVIE, I just couldn't suspend my disbelief
>Nathan doesn't have any side measures, weapons, automatic dismemberment in case things get out of hand >goes to confront two AI that "hate" him on his own, without trying to relock doors or whatever
Although I did see some complaints that I thought were unreasonable
for example, people complaining about how easy Caleb fell in love LOOOOL, I mean, that would actually happen, like for sure for sure
And also, he didn't want to reprogram Ava's AI to make sure she would save him because he didn't want to erase her memories
if the name of the movie isn't Index i'm gonna be pissed, OP
Charles Flores
Entertaining enough movie. Nothing special but I enjoyed it.
Josiah Sanders
thats all you can hope for in the dark age of movies
Kevin Turner
It won the oscar for best visual effects that year, nothing cheap looking about it.
Leo Stewart
Good movie, just like Alex Garland's other movies, excellent acting and relationship drama, interesting-enough scifi story to go along with it. Annihilation was also like that, it's a relationship drama framed with scifi.
Liam Gomez
Netflix movies are cheap by definition
Cameron Gonzalez
And? This wasn't a Netflix film.
Liam Reed
The fuck? Slow year?
Nicholas Davis
Mad Max: Fury Road, The Martian, The Reverent, and motherfucking Star Wars were the other nominees so no, not really.
Blake Morgan
Like a smart movie, it seemed to me the AI found Nathan’s weekness fairly quick and used his weekness against him. A naive Nathan was no match against an attractive robot, that out smarted him.
Jose Brown
Oh I get it, it won because it had a female protagonist,.it won because they had to given them an award the effects are nothing to write home about.
Carter Kelly
Two of those other movies had female protagonists, also Ava is literally the antagonist of the film.
Colton Taylor
Loved it. Great performances all around. Check out Annihilation as well.
Jose Johnson
If I recall correctly the movie has characters explicitly state that you can't test for consciousness "from the outside" (the chinese room/philosophical zombie sort of problem), then has the characters try to do that anyway for basically the whole movie.
Levi Rivera
OK so it won because there was an Asian in it, you know there are only 3 Asians in Hollywood at any time?
Adam Butler
>Check out Annihilation as well. most jewish movie released in years
Jackson Ramirez
Jewish movie?
Aiden Brown
Pretty much this. I liked the visual design, the house was fun interior design porn, and I have a bit of a crush on Oscar Isaac with a beard. Sometimes that's all you need in a movie.
Christian Howard
>oh I see, Ex Machina won because it had a female protag >Fury Road had a female protag >Star Wars had a female protag and pandered harder than any movie in history (you)
Luis Lopez
This might look like but I assure you it is not.
Oliver Watson
He's just triggered because there's a scene in it where Natalie Portman has sex with a black guy.
Easton Murphy
Oscar bait for dumbfuck normies
>>/tv/
Jaxson Watson
>Tech jew gets killed by the golem he created >failed to see that he may be wrong >failed to put in extraneous measures >literally tortured them and then mocked them >became the prisoner of his own hell Sounds about right level of arrogance.
Juan Smith
This movie fucked me up desu. I watched it once and haven't seen it since. I spent about 30 minutes after it ended just looking at my arms and shit, realizing that people and flesh will probably be surpassed by AI within the next 1, 2 or 3 lifetimes. Trippy movie
Christopher Allen
she did? i was pointing out that at least half the cast is jewish.
Owen Gomez
Also all the masculine male soldiers that were sent in failed, and it took a team all women to save the day. A dyke lesbian, a scientist, a botanist (Natalie Portman) who is praised by the others for being tough and capable. The kind of stuff women would say to each other in a circlejerk support group
Josiah Miller
But she is Jewish, herself. Shes from Israel.
Julian Nguyen
>save the day Did we watch the same movie? Portman + Issac were both replaced by dopplegangers.
Alexander Mitchell
>dyke lesbian As opposed to a straight lesbian?
Ethan Lewis
>setup the doors to unlock when the power goes out >power goes out at the end and for some reason MC is locked in
And there is it. Though I would have found it more difficult if the robot were Asuka, which it would have been in a more realistic version of this movie.
It was also a completely made up plot point that was never in the book, BTW. They literally added it for propaganda.
Robert Watson
bitchin house

>Nathan doesn't have any side measures, weapons, automatic dismemberment in case things get out of hand Yeah that was pretty retarded. I mean even if he didn't implemented those "thou shalt hurt no human" asimov rules, it's pretty unrealistic he didn't had root access to his machines, especially considering he was still in the development phase.
But we got to see the bobs of that Japanese robot so I forgive those plotholes.
Jace Roberts
Made sense to me, he was a Chad so confident his inventions wouldn't give him shit so he never bothered with counter measures
Easton Miller
what the fuck is this place now? WHO ARE WE!? /TV/, /V/, Jow Forums, /B/, Jow Forums, /LGBT/, /FA/... ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS?
Camden Johnson
I thought it was a bad movie. The visuals were really nice though.
