>is that a gigaybyte motherboard?
Yes

Looks like a shit soldering joke on those chokes. Bad conductive connections = more resistance = more heat. Looks like you got a shit mobo.

God have mercy on your soul, boy.

who the fuck buys gigaybyte trash? hahahahaha. even assrocks is mildly better

It's quite old though, like 8+ years, and heavily used. Basically just wondering if this is going to be a problem if it continues to run.

>if this is going to be a problem if it continues to run
dude, its a problem right now! since you bought that shit it has been waiting to burn your house down. how thicc skulled are you?

But it runs fine, it's not even hot

If it still works it'll likely be fine and probably won't fail violently if it does. Given the age of the hardware I'd make plans to replace it, either with something better from the same era or newer.

What kind of power supply does it have?

bad post

It went through at least 4 PSUs, has a decent 550W now. I'm already building a new PC to replace it but I'd like to keep it around for casual hacking and such

>It went through at least 4 PSUs,
Uh-oh.

I kept buying the cheapest ones and they kept dying on me

>8 years
>chewed through 4 PSUs
>vrm clearly bad
just trash it you humongous faggot

Why though, it works.

normally people learn from their mistakes

If it has a decent power supply now it should be fine. I would guess that it was probably the crappy power supplies that did that damage (assuming it is damage, even if slight)

It does seem to run pretty well. Maybe I could change the mobo but I don't even know where to find such an old mobo that isn't in a bad condition

eBay. What is it, socket 775? There are tonnes of those on the used market, and the vast majority are in perfect working order.

I think it's 1155 actually. I'll try to find some, thanks

putting aside the fact that your comparison is gay because 1800X is an 8-core while i9 is an 18-core...
845W, sweet Haruhi. That's LITERALLY space heater tier power usage.

Ahem

>comparing 32 core CPU to 18 core CPU

>32c vs 18c
>ohhh look 32c is hotter xddd fuk amd amiright
te absolute state of intlelfags

what even is the issue anonymous

The SMD coil casing has turned blue
