Hah, while I do have a Macbook and a windows desktop I've never stopped using linux. I still love it, but there is some truth in this photo:
>Distro hop for years
>Get meme'd into installing Gentoo and Arch
>Spend days configuring Gentoo
>Just to use the same software I'd use on any distro
>Spend hours configuring Arch
>Just to use the same software I'd use on any distro
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>7 years later
>Return to Xubuntu
>Just to use the same software I'd use on any distro
>Install Antegos on Thinkpad
>everything works fine
>Spend time playing with ROS and prolog
>Install arch one last time on some laptop I got from a pawn shop
>Do fresh install
>Sudo pacman -Syu
>config breaks
>Fix config
>nothing ever changes.
This sums up my experience with linux over the last 1.5 decade.
