I honestly don't know why there's such an uproar about these articles. People just kinda figured that they may indirectly apply to memes. The only concrete change that we need to be concerned about is that services can now be held accountable for user-generated content. It's very much an extension to DMCA law, content that previously did not fall under copyright infringement still don't.
Article 11 & Article 13
I licked a negro once
Major services like Google and Facebook will just block the EU
EU just banned memes
What a faggot continent
>YFW you don't live in EU
Sure it's not a big deal in an of itself, but it's yet another turn on the garrote around Internet's throat, and a step closer to a widespread institutionalized censorship. Humanity is falling again towards fascism. Eventually a lot of people will get hurt, the only difference this time is that there probably won't be a way out because nobody will be able to hear them cry in agony. I can't wait for all the edginess that's common to Jow Forums trying to downplay the event and dismiss this post with some meme.
Jow Forums is full of Google & Facebook marketer that's why
>EU just banned memes
PRAISE BE EU
>The only concrete change that we need to be concerned about is that services can now be held accountable for user-generated content
And this is a very big change that we need to be really, REALLY worried about.
>It's very much an extension to DMCA law
No it's not. DMCA is an American law. Article 11 and 13 are European laws.
>protect the rights of the rich against the poor peoples
>everybody clapped
I thought this was a European law. This reads like an American story.
God speed.
