CPU
>R3 2200G - Bare minimum gaming(dGPU optional)
>R5 2400G/i5-8400 - Consider IF on sale
>R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs
>Wait for 9700k - Almost surely best for 1080p gaming
>R7 2700/X - Best high-end gaming/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform
>Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT

RAM
>8GB - Enough for most gaming use
>16GB - Standard for heavy use
>32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal

Graphics cards
>RTX 2000 cards are worse performance per $ than current GPUs. Just a marketing gimmick to rip off idiots
>Avoid cheap MODELS ie MSI Armor (Mk2 is ok), Gigabyte G1/Wf, ASUS dual, and others which have small heatsinks and low quality fans
1080p
>RX 570/580 /w Freesync or 1060 6GB are standard 1080p 60fps+ options
>1050 3Gb or RX560 for lower settings, or older games
>GTX 1070Ti/Vega 56 if seeking higher FPS /w a high hz monitor
1440p
>Vega 56; 1070Ti/1080 if you already have Gsync
>GTX 1080Ti if seeking higher FPS /w a high hz monitor
4K
>Upscale from 1620-1800p. Maybe 2080Ti, but awful value.
OpenCL work
>Vega 64

Storage
>Backup before using StoreMi
>Consider getting a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & large HDD
>2TB HDDs are barely more $ than 1TB
>M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard

Display
>Consider 75hz minimum; 60hz are mostly old models.
>Always consider FreeSync with AMD cards
>___sync is important for slower response time monitors (IPS)
>PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING

How is a gtx 1070 for VR?

What are some good wireless adapters?

Is this the best way to connect a chain to my PC?

ASUS PCE-AC51

Any $10 stick

Do Intel CPUs need high RAM?

I'm tempted to buy 4 sticks on sale, its Corsair 3200Mhz too.

It's DDR4 so I can't use it on my system but with RAM prices being retarded I feel it wouldn't hurt to buy a few for my future rig.

Considering a Fractal Design case;
What’s more valuable?
>the reduced noise of the Define C
>the reduced heat of the Meshify C
Is Define still cool enough? Is Meshify still quiet enough? I don’t plan to OC, but plan to make do with stock coolers

I've been searching for an answer to this for over a month and come to the conclusion that they're both great cases and you can't go wrong whatever you choose.

Note that you really should put 1 or 2 fans of the front of the meshify, so that will increase the price point past $100 usd

Need a case. I don't care how it looks, I don't need any stupid windows or LEDs or any bullshit. Just a black fucking box with USB 3.0 ports in the front that doesn't turn my system into a stove.

Best options under 60 yurops?

Do not buy any ram before you need it.
A good standart today is 2x8gb DDR4 at a clock speed your mobo supports without overclocking.
We will soon get DDR5 GPU ram on the mobo instead on DDR4.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR5_SDRAM

Does that make the Define cheaper? Does that not require extra fans?

Define C for adults.
Meshify C in you have posters on the wall.

All cases need 1 intake, cpu and exhaust. Don't buy more untill you know your rig is hot and the fans needs to run too fast.

When people say the 8400 isn’t future proof, are they just referring to super high framerates? Would it still handle 60fps for years to come?
What’s a good budget mobo and ram for it?

The are no future proof cpu, ram or gpu.
Only buy what you need today.

hello all, would this be a good set up for playing pubg?
AMD A8-7600 APU
16GB DDR3 2100mhz
300GB SATA Hard drive
Gigabyte FM2+ ATX motherboard
Thermaltake 430Watt power supply
all used, but its around my budget.

Im looking for the cheapest way to buy a NVIDIA card that can do Shadowplay (screen recording) while playing Dota 2 with no FPS below 60, at 1080p at high or max settings, even during intense fights. Maybe a used 750 ti? I know a gtx 960 2GB is good enough on a i5-7500 PC.

CPU: i5-2500k
RAM: 8 GB

Is NZXT H500 appropriate for adults? Is FD Define c still better?

How should I upgrade this?

Attached: speccy7.png (694x400, 20K)

Short answer, No.

dayum. how much would i be spending to bring it up to par?

windows 10 home -> windows 10 pro
double your ram and get 3200mhz of ddr4
preorder an rtx 2080 ti
get a 970 evo ssd

The Define C and NZXT H500 are almost indistinguishable.

6 letter word, begins with G ends with O
Install it

32gb is overkill for all gaming, look up some test, only content creators need more than 16, also he cannot buy ddr4 without replacing mobo and cpu.

DDR5 WHEN

I do 1440p 60 FPS gaymen, is Win 10 pro, 32GB and a 2080 Ti necessary?
I was just thinking mobo + coffee lake + 16GB DDR4 + m.2
what

2020 16gb $279.99

>2nd gen i7
literally equivalent to an 8th gen i3 get rid of it or kill yourself autism

>what
It is a very old and lame meme about installing a useless OS, Gentoo.

Comfy OC at 4.5GHz for SEVEN years and only recently has begun showing it's age,
By far the best piece of hardware I've owned and likely will ever own.

I need to replace my GTX960 2GB. Is a GTX 1080 8GB good value for money?

For SSD, do I need an M2 or is a regular Samsung 850/860 good enough

Thanks, will probably go the cheaper one

Attached: Capture3.png (794x925, 48K)

How’s 2600x for gaymen?

Shit unless you pay $200+ for ram

Bumping with this
$700 gaymen PC for a younger relative
Thoughts?

Attached: build2.png (1181x811, 73K)

The 2600x is better for the workstation role and less for gaming, considering the price.

same as last thread...
ditch the shit i3 for i5, drop the cooler, H370 is not needed, get 2666 RAM, RX580 is cheaper but equally good, no need for gold PSU and that chink SSD well..

He needs some kind of SSD, can't go back to HDD for boot drives.

I saw a screenshot of GTAV showing the 8400 at 100%. Is that a bad reflection on the chip and its ability to run modern/future games, or is gtav unusually demanding?

I recently upgraded from that exact GPU to a 1070 for $250 USD. If you can find one for under maybe 300 or 250, then I would say it's worth it. Considering prices now, I'd say that you should wait until you can get a 1080 for around 300. Of course, in theory, prices will drop the longer you wait, but if you want to upgrade now then I'd say that it's worth it at that price point.

I have 2-300$ to improve this.

pcpartpicker.com/list/NfrFCb

Is the 1070 much worse than 1070 ti? Is it still fine for 1440p?

Is the list a future build or do you already have it?

Future build.

>I have 2-300$ to improve this.
Better video card.
500gb 3.200 MB/s M.2.

>slow ass RAM
>last gen Ryzen
>NVMeme
why?

The 1070 can definitely do 1440p, but it's largely considered as the sweet spot for 1080p. If you have a 1440p 144hz monitor, you'll probably find a 1070ti or 1080 to be better. I wouldn't say its much worse, but it's definitely a step down.

Video card isn't necessary yet / not included in the budget. I don't play any Tomb Raiders or BF1s. Might buy one later on when necessary.
I have no idea what I'm doing.
Read that RAM speed wasn't all that important so I took the one with 10 year warranty.
Read that the 2600 had too much diminishing return on the price, so I went with the 1600.

>slow ass RAM
It is not slow, also 2400 gives him the best system stability.

Is it silly to pair a 1080/ti with an 8400? I just want good out of the box performance

>I have no idea what I'm doing.
Maybe you want to read some shit first.
>Read that RAM speed wasn't all that important so I took the one with 10 year warranty.
Utter nonsense. Ryzen needs fast RAM and warranty for RAM is completely irrelevant.
>Read that the 2600 had too much diminishing return on the price, so I went with the 1600.
Lmao wat? In what kind of shithole do you live?

>caring about what others think is ok for an adult to own

Holy shit just buy the case if you like it

Post infographics concerning mice, monitors, and keyboards

Please.

Attached: 1536762769716.jpg (1080x1434, 140K)

Doesn't that shit game have shit optimization? I've heard of high end GPU's barely getting 60fps. For how shitty the game looks I honestly would expect it to get 60fps on a 2gb 1050. Anyway, you'll probably need a dgpu, and an actual cpu

It is fine, GPU is way more important than CPU unless you are making a workstation.
The i3-8350K may be a better gaming CPU than the 8400.
cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i3-8350K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-8400/3935vs3939

infographics are shit choose a mouse with the lowest click latency and the best implementation of the best sensor possible

>i3 > i5
Serious? How is this even remotely possible? You’re blowing my mind right now

What's your take on micro itx builds?

Attached: 1535986833532.jpg (638x629, 42K)

it isn't 2008 any more most mice have 'perfect' sensors

they have a higher base clock speed and it's only relevant if you only give a shit about getting 5-10 more fps on certain games
tl;dr ignore intel shills

they're nice but you're severely limited in your choice of cases/motherboards

Attached: Logitech G400 ebay 12usd.jpg (1200x1600, 242K)

AMD A8-7600 APU
16GB DDR3 2100mhz
300GB SATA Hard drive
Gigabyte FM2+ ATX motherboard
Thermaltake 430Watt power supply

what would i have to update here to play pubg?

Everything.

Right but isn’t the i3 cheaper than i5? If so, why wouldn’t I go for 5-10 more frames? Sounds like a no brainer unless I’m misinterpreting. Why isn’t it mentioned in OP?

fugg. trying to find something so my wifes son can play when he comes over.
they want $500 for that, am i just better off building my own? new to building

>my wifes son
You have bigger problems than building a budget gaymen PC.

Attached: 105.gif (340x340, 144K)

M-ITX makes the coolest gaming rigs.
ATX is where it is at for workstations.
M-ATX for cheap PC's.

Attached: mthbrd_form_factors.jpg (1440x651, 326K)

its a meme, m8

poes law, m8

I don't think it's physically possible for someone to unironically say "wife's son" on this site.

I bet there's some sad cunt on /soc/ or Jow Forums who'd exactly that.

fairly sure the power supply would get in the way, unless it's different for that particular case

the case should also have something to make the side panels require a tool to open, and a plate to reinforce that part of the chassis so that it can't simply be ripped out

On Intel 8 gen everything have shifted. New pentiums are the old i3, new i3 are the old i5 and so on.

but would i be better off just building a new one?
its actually for my sisters kid, she doesnt like the idea of him having a gaming comp, so i figured i get him one he can use here, and eventually bring it home
ive never built one, but ive replaced parts and installed linux on a few machines. think it would be a good learning experience for both

I will consider that. ty.

There is free space on each side of the psu. I will use security screws for the side panels, and a L bracket so the U bolt is bot connected to the backplate and the floorplate.

Trying to build a good computer in as small a space as possible is quite neat.
Too bad most "good" Mini-ITX cases are massive as fuck and may as well just be Micro-ATX cases.
If you're not going to go for REALLY small, you may as well not bother.

>corsair 275R
>Gamer Nexus tests temps
>changing the front fan from 120mm >140mm increases the temps under load
>Gamer nexus cites the increased fan size changes the pressure in the case, causing it to internally cycle warmer air, i.e., cant get rid of heat fast enough so it builds

Will adding exhaust fans to the top of the case remedy this?

Attached: hero_cases[1].png (1042x888, 924K)

Yes build new. That ancient thing is useless.
$500 isn't much though and pubg runs like shit on Ryzen APUs so you'll need to buy a shit Pentium with a shit low budget GPU but even then it will most likely only be playable at 720p.

2600x and 1700x are the same price. Which is better if I want to play games at 1080p and emulate PS3?

Are these good cases? Looks nice at least.

Buy a 8700K now or wait for 9700K/9900K?

Attached: 1536010447182.jpg (1600x1200, 583K)

Definitely 2600x, because of improved latencies.
I may anger some shills here, but Intel is better for both of those tasks.

because it'll be 5-10 frames in a handful of single or low thread count games and will be utterly destroyed by the i5 in every other game or on systems where you want to do more things than just run a single game, like have chrome and discord in the background or something, go look up benchmarks for the particular game you're interested in

that said the i5-8400 is in a shit spot right now, i3s used to be 2 core with hyperthreading (2c4t) compared to i5s with 4 native cores, but now i3s are 4c whereas i5s are 6c, current gen consoles are all 4c8t and most modern games are going to be optimised for this so both the i3 and i5 will be equally shit in games but the i5 should still have the edge in games that do optimise for more cores

Misao is thinking.

Just looks like a shit design, made. Top exhaust fans may help.

>buying an objectively poorly designed, flawed, and insecure architecture now
Yeah just do it. You deserve such a thing for even considering it.

2600X is perfectly fine at emulation. It's just AMD GPUs that you want to avoid for some OpenGL emulators.

Attached: 71thbposf7n01.jpg (2500x1824, 327K)

This pic is misleading because many of these mini-ITX cases in addition to being tall and deep as fuck as also wide as fuck, unlike the PS4 which looks like a DVD player.

>buying an objectively poorly designed, flawed, and insecure architecture now
You're talking about the 8700K? What's wrong with it? I just want to build a "top end" PC.

Attached: 1535929323635.gif (400x300, 343K)

if i were to build new would 700-900 be enough to build something a lot better?

Hey do you guys have any tips?

Also can you recommend a monitor to buy with this build.

Attached: pc build.png (1169x891, 83K)

the 9700k is also shit, they are the same shit

Are there any AM4 ATX motherboards that have the PCI-e slots in the right to support 3 GPUs?
Yes, I know actually trying to use 3 GPUs would be dumb for gayman, but it's not for that.

Attached: 1453302305155.jpg (549x560, 50K)

any 75hz 1080p monitor

Yes. That's 2600/8400 + 580/1060 area.
