I wanna download my steam wishlist page to my hard drive, but when I right click-save as in it, it only saves the games that are immediately on my screen, not the entire page, even tho i've made sure to scroll all the way down so they all load up.
Can anyone tell me how to go about this and why this is happening?

I am bringing an old computer back to life, but it's not booting into BIOS. I get fan spin but nothing else.
I don't even have a DE I'm just using a window manager to keep it as lightweight as possible. is there like an Xorg config that would keep the display on?

Any UK university anons here? Was thinking of getting a laptop to take with me but not sure what. Should I be looking for 14" and under or is there enough room for more and laptop use will be just notes wont it so I could get away with arch?

if you're running xscreensaver (pic related) then run xscreensaver-demo and configure the power options, if not run something like: xset s off -dpms or read wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Display_Power_Management_Signaling but if something else is responsible for the blanking this likely won't work
Inspect the motherboard for defects, and maybe the power supply for pins reading the wrong voltage. It might also just be that it is booting, but the graphics output or processor is fried.
Nathaniel Howard
try either using igpu or a dedicated gpu if no leds work on the motherboard and ^ doesn't work it's likely the mobo that's fucked you can also try only using one stick of ram and trying it in different slots also try to remove everything that isn't essential to booting to bios
Sebastian Collins
Why are there still cmos batteries in current year?
volatile memory is useful for things like bios settings where incorrectly configuring something can lead to a soft lock, and real time clocks need constant power it's not always an option to sync the clocks with the internet on boot

What's the difference between manipulation and friendliness? People really like the persona I adopt in public, but it's not like me at all. I recently considered that I may have gotten my job because of this. In reality I'm miserable, but acting that way only makes people avoid you. Pretending is hard but it gives me practical benefits. Is this manipulation or is this just how you're expected to be in society? I really don't like it either way.

let's just say I theoretically wanted to track my own car as though I was in some sort of spy movie and wanted something that would Mount quickly and easily magnetically under the car frame, does anyone have a suggestion I could buy easily off of Amazon? I'll show you a couple of examples but I'm seeing mixed reviews and some sort of thing where you need to buy a SIM card to go along with it I'm not sure about this whole class of item
What does this even mean? I don't understand 'traced' faggots. Manga doesn't look anything like a real person. You retards need to spend more time in public with real people, away from your computers. You have social disorders bordering on mental illnesses. Seek help, please.
Owen Brooks
Let's say I wanted to do that but be able to trace it from my phone from outside of the car you know like if someone took the car from me? Kind of like an externally mounted lojack that responded to the smartphone

I have an MSI gtx 970 and it came with a little MSI app that can put it in "OverClock" mode.
For the last few months if I don't put it into this OC mode then pretty soon my computer will black screen and restart when I try to run anything remotely intensive.
Any thoughts what might be causing that and why the OC mode would fix it?

a distinction needs to be made between 'faking it until you make it' and manipulation, the former is usually a legitimate strategy to get over things like anxiety or imposter syndrome and to build confidence in individuals whereas the latter is a tactic that abusers use and is usually accompanied by things like suspicion, jealousy, anger issues, emotional instability, etc, and involves lying/cheating/getting people to do things for you that they wouldn't normally do
if you're genuinely having anxiety/self doubt issues you can fall into the trap of thinking you're abusing others, and whatever the case may be this is prime territory for talking to a psychiatrist to work out your issues before you end up destroying relationships or yourself
Ryder Evans
an issue overclockers often face is that degrading hardware needs more voltage to sustain the same clockspeed and the reverse can be true, less clock speed for the same voltage chances are your card has degraded enough that the stock settings aren't good enough and the default overclock mode has more of a buffer that it's not having these issues instead of sticking it in overclock mode you could also try reducing the clockspeeds a little, also try to figure out if it's the memory of the main clock as reducing the memory bandwidth usually isn't a huge deal
How is ./script filename.txt Different to bash filename.txt Am I close when I think "./" is execute "script" in CWD using the default shell? If yes...why doesn't it work? echo $SHELL /bin/bash
Luke Young
I tried that and yeah no out from VGA or hdmi from the mobo.
yeah I tried moving the RAM into each different slot and nothing. I took everything off but the motherboard, CPU, and a single RAM stick. I'll try swapping motherboards
Reflecting on this, I think self destruction is the right choice after all. It's the only safe bet. I appreciate the sincerity.
Gavin King
I didn't actually know that about the clock speed, that explains a lot
thanks user, appreciate it

Play devil's advocate for me, Jow Forums. If the IME is not a backdoor, why does Intel >not explain what it actually fucking does? >not offer a tool for end users to disable it? >allow vendors to disable it if it's supposedly necessary for normal function? >include a killswitch in the IME if it's truly harmless? Not b8ing. I genuinely want to know what the fuck they're thinking. I have yet to hear any arguments against it being a backdoor that don't start with "That's just a crazy conspiracy theory but I'm not gonna explain why".
Luke Cox
>implying you can only trace "real" imagese
John Rodriguez
It is a backdoor though. Intel doesn't even document all the instructions their chipsets can do. It's a feature.

Yesterday the half of the monitor got a distorted stripe/fringe, it appears even if I disconnect the cable to the CPU. It even follow the movements of the arrow. Also the lines change from seconds of violet to second of green. The monitor have ~2 years of life Can someone tell if this have a solution or should just buy another monitor?
I accidently deleted it and left that out because I didn't feel like typing all of that again. I'm actually surprised you caught that, and thank you for doing so.
I was pretty much thinking of going the whole 9 yards and going through every preventative measure to keep this thing from overheating. Along the way I was curious about this thermal pad thing I saw on LTT. Thanks for your input.

Not booting into bios can have a lot of causes, most common are ram failures and psu problems

When downloading images in a firefox based browser or any other one, is the image stored on the hard drive or ram? I don't mean the save file download, but to load a webpage. For example when I load a thread, and open images, then close them, they don't have to be downloaded again, but are they downloaded to the hard drive? For that matter is the whole page downloaded to the hard drive, and loaded into ram when necessary or just directly downloaded into the ram?
Back to the threads and thumbnails and stuff, i observed that when i open an image, then close it, and refresh the page the image is still loaded. Wouldn't this eat up a hell of a lot of ram? Is there a way to clear them without leaving the page. I frequent slow boards and like having a lot of threads open and not having to open them to check for new replies, 40+ tabs +youtube and i never turn off my computer, so it adds up after a certain amount of time (current uptime is almost a week). Waterfox hogged generally 2,5 gigs of ram, i switched to palemoon, it's more acceptable here.
Chase Barnes
You can generally assume that any modern 86x processor is somewhat "backdoored". In general though intel doesn't have to answer to anyone, and they prefer to keep most of what they do private and outside of the risk of scrutiny and duplication. They don't want to share the secret formula or risk having exploits discovered on previously released hardware. You can't just issue a patch when this shit is found, as evidenced by the ongoing clusterfuck that is speculative execution.
They're not alone though. Processors are generally a black box
They're in ram. Your browser has an adjustable cache size in the settings menu.

stop posting and get to googling and coding already if you're absolutely clueless at java you've likely failed the assignment, if you can at least read and understand java programs and aren't completely inadept at it you can probably do it if you skip sleep depending on how much of a pain those other assignments are but either way expect a poor grade
maybe try asking for an extension
Oliver James
I took AP CS in HS so they bumped me up to CS II even though I got a 1 on the exam, I have coded a bit of Java because AP CS so I know the basics and am aware of all the concepts the class is teaching but I get confused on the order of where to put things which is my main issue and I suck at hand writing code luckily this doesnt require that, I will get to googling

I've started getting consistent memory reference Application Errors on Win10, on startup and when trying to run random programs. Computer also has some issues booting Win10. Had this happen a few months back and had to fresh install Win10 and restore because my computer couldn't boot after an update, any chance of a fix that doesn't involve doing that again?

All browsers default to disk cache enabled, meaning yes they get saved to disk, memory cache is also enabled.
If you use private browsing mode in Chrome or FF, only memory cache is enabled (even for media cache, like streaming youtube or webms). IE private browsing still uses disk cache.
I personally use disk cache disabled (private mode), it is still fast and I have done for years.
Adam Hall

sure, but it was denied, and anyone talking about it was a "conspiracy theorist," for instance, in the newsmedia. after 9/11 >OF COURSH we have an NSA, why would we not? are you with the terrorists? I find that youngfags don't know this, but just wait--you'll see this happen.

if java then use an ide, preferably intellij or anything other than eclipse if you like keyboard driven stuff you generally can't go wrong with emacs/vim but they're not worth learning if you don't do it properly
unless that ps3 hasn't had a firmware update in 10+ years you won't be able to install linux on it without jailbreaking which may require hardware modification on your model

You're referencing a fucking book. Body of Secrets was published in 2001. That's where your meme memory is getting the idea that no one talked about them. People talked about them, no one cared. They weren't overthrowing governments like the CIA. NSA just wasn't very newsworthy. Nobody denied they existed.
Here i did your assignment. I have no idea about java, never used it I only studied c++ in HS.. The only piece of java code i read and tried to understand is what i copied out from this page java-examples.com/even-odd-number-example public class FindEvenOrOddNumber {
public static void main(String[] args) {
//create an array of 10 numbers int n = 1;
for(int i=1; i < 10; i++) n = n * i; System.out.println(n + ">CS II assignments"); } } }
Part of it is that they weren't so concerned with domestic spying back then. Their stated purpose and legal allowance was always to keep tabs on foreign threats. They were supposed to be very limited as to what they could do within the US. There were a few key decisions in the early 2000s that radically changed their scope and focus.
