I used the stock cooler, and it's the shittiest cooler I have used in my life. It changed a lot with an aftermarket one, but it still gets hot as shit, though not enough to either shut down or sound too loud

No it won't. What even gives you that idea? The problem with Intel CPUs isn't that the TIM gets worse with time either, it's just thatt they have higher TDPs to begin with, and that the TIM can't handle that.

the amd fx stock fans are notoriously shit. i used to have this really small matx only asus case and it got so hot that one of the corners just popped off when i tried to take it out and clean it. now it taps against the heatsink and makes even more fucking noise.

I got a FX6350, with the motherboard and a AIO back in 2013 for only 170€ total.
Still using it, overclocked to 4.7GHz, runs nice and cool without noise. I only use that shitbox for gaming and everything still runs easily at 60 FPS+ on high settings at 1080p or 1440p, won't upgrade before DDR4 drops.

Honestly 3 cores is enough, single thread perf is more important than total number of threads for general usability.

I also have a 6350 and mostly use it for gaming in 1440p. It's perfectly fine. Maybe 50 FPS most games instead of 60, but I'm still happy with it
