Ryzen

RISC-V
plays the latest update to dwarf fortress just fine

If you just play games and want high fps get i7 8700k. If you want mix usage get a Ryzen 7 2700x you can live stream and do some cool stuff. I'd also recommend this because the upgrade path is much better.

1080p and high FPS Intel but they have a price hike because of the 14nm demand. How much do you want to pay?

I think these are a bit overkill for me? I only play games

Get a ryzen 7 mate for both gayming and work.

I dont think. I need anything better than i5-8500 desu

1600/x or whatever its called should probably suit you.

Buying used is also a great way to cut costs

GTX 1060?

oh u mean ryzen 5 1600x?

If high refresh gaming is your primary concern get the 8700K or wait until the 9700K comes out.

If high res gaming or just general computing, go with Ryzen

/thread

With 1070ti even 2600 would be fine, no need to suck jewish cock that hard.

Some ppl recommend ryzen 2600 and some ppl recommend high end 8700k and idk anymore...

>current CPU unironically worse than my 400 dollar laptop's CPU back in 2014

My PC is older than your laptop
I was only playing LoL so this PC was good enough for that

get a new psu and the gpu.
then in a year get a new mobo with zen2

Not op, but planning to move to ryzen. No experience in building a computer but tried to read up on the topic. It intends to be a linux computer for developing large scale mpi+gpu applications. Can someone please check my build?

Fukc you kiketel shill. All issues are fixed from last update. Based AMD is god tier. Intel dead architecture donst have comeback until 2024 for design flawed.

not bad. maybe consider getting a hd?

looks alight aside from the PSU. really not worth it to save too much money there. a focus plus gold 550w would be a quality PSU with 10years of warranty, for example.

Buy a good b350 motherboard, and Ryzen 1700 or 2600 so you can upgrade to zen 2 in the future

>I think these are a bit overkill for me? I only play games
Ryzen 2600 and good mobo

Benefits compared

AMD
>newer architecture
>you can buy a new CPU later when it comes out in 6 months

Intel
>better performance

>Intel
>>better performance
lol

They're not going to take you back, Brian. It's time to stop.

thank you for the advice. i do not plan to overclock (except for the memory, to get the 3200Mhz). Do I really need a better PSU? (284W is the estimated maximum power usage, 450W is the current PSU.) Or is it a good decision for future upgrades?

Wait for 9900K

changed to bitfenix formula gold 550w

It was about the quality of the PSU and not
really about the wattage. It's just hard to find a decent one below 550w.
solid

8600k

2700x is the more future proof option if you want to sacrifice a few fps in gayms. It will age a lot better with the 4 extra threads.

For gaymen:

Ryzen 2600 + 100$ board + 35$ cooler
or
8700K + 180$ board + 150$ AIO (and possibly some delidding kit)

Whichever you want to afford. You can also waitâ„¢ for the 9700K - but good luck on that.

If you also do something that can take advantage of threads, the 2700(X) might as well be something for you.

You can play fine with even i3 8100 and Geforce GTX 1060 3gb

if you wanna go cheep and get a bang for your buck grab i3-8100 msi b360m mortar ripjaws 4 ddr4 c14 (4x4 16gb)

with a 1060 or higher you can play like all the new games at 60 fps and there room to upgrade your cpu too

Is there any AMD GPU similar to the 1050 Ti and 750 Ti, i have a shitty power supply and don't feel like changing it but would like to upgrade the 750 Ti to something AMD. Or is AMD all high power consumption?

>150$ AIO
Fuck off bugman. Just get Reeven Justice with 2nd Coldwing 120mm if your a big spender or else get whatever flavor the day is for even cheaper.

>I want to play new games on fullhd and 144hz.
Don't do this to yourself.

Go 4k or at least 1440p.
Ryzen does that just fine.
If you are certain you want 140fps then you wil probably need Intel.

> I only play games
then buy intel

if your gonna upgrade dont get a gpu like a 1050 ti get one better if your gaming if you want amd grab r9 390 its just like the 1060

if you want to play games and push out as much frames as possible from a 1070 ti then get a 8700k.

just get a gtx 1060, it an run on old dell machines, long as it's not a sff case you'll be fine
