I don't have liquid nitrogen for cooling

I don't know where to buy LN2, nor how to cool a PC with it.

I'm stuck with 3.6

My 4790k will do 4.8GHz on air at 1.275v. Which is perfectly safe. Once you start going over 1.3v, you're seriously damaging the lifespan of the chip. I hate to think what the voltage being pumped through that is, to achieve that speed.

Ah, the smell of all those cpu cycles being wasted on node.js apps, chrome, and unity gaems

>My 4790k will do 4.8GHz on air at 1.275v
>Tfw can't even get 4.4ghz at 1.3v on my 4690k
I'm ready to throw this CPU in a river

That's just bad luck m8.

i am on 4690k for 3 years with [email protected] on water. 48hrs prime95 tested. Have been on 4.9Ghz with 1.37V but for the sake of lifespan put it back.

I am sorry for your lottery

i dont like my cpu consuming 450w~

What a fucking meme. I'll believe it when the majority of software isn't bottlenecked by single threaded performance.

windows 10 frequency isn't accurate corelet

OP here. I posted this because it's not true. It's Wind10 just being stupid and shitty as per usual. I have it OC'd to 4.5 Ghz. But Win10 is reporting it as 5.76 GHZ even though it's not under load and would be impossible without some exotic cooling solution (I'm running a shitty Corsair AIO on it).

It made me zozzle so I thought I'd post it here for you to laugh at Windows (not that you need much to do that). Maybe it was caused by the latest update.

Well duh.

I have a 3770k and maybe I didn't install it perfectly or the paste just went to shit after all those years, but it's running pretty hot and I don't want to fuck things up unnecessarily, when I can't afford new hardware anyway.

Still enough older titles to play with my gtx670 and 3770k.
Maybe one day I will be able to do a big upgrade, buy a Vive or something and then live forever in the VR world.

i have an i7 "Housefire Haswell" 4790K. thing barely makes it to 4ghz as it is

I knew it was gonna be shitty when I attempted to OC and already the CPU ran at 1.2v at stock settings.
I might be able to get 4.3 at 1.3v but the power consumption and running close to 90c on a D15 just isn't worth the 400mhz

The 4790k is 4.0 - 4.4GHz stock ya lying bastard.

i have the 4790k with a big fat noctua & i dont even want to hit that auto-OC toggle in the firmware, i like my stability

>tfw non-k version
at least its never going above 60 degrees

It's supposed to be...
But mine runs really really hot. When I had the stock cooler I had to underclock it to 3ghz lest it shut down out of heat.

maybe your mainboard is giving too much voltage, how much ?

2.1GHzx2 is enough for me

OP here again.

that lastest update also broke the graphs on the side
is that an insider preview?

It's called running more than 1 thing at a time. Every browser tab open is a independent thread.

I’ve gotten my 4690k up to 4.6GHz reliably
