So I woke up last night and noticed my computer had woken itself up from hibernate. I had a look in event viewer and noticed it had been doing it a lot. This has only started since I installed Windows 10, anyway i can stop this happening without having to shut down every night?

I mindlessly followed some guide and almost an heroed my phone. Anyway, I restored from (old) backup using twrp and couldn't install any updates, not even on f-droid. Went "fuck it" and flashed the new rom like I wanted to to start with. Actually worked. Still unable to update, and install .apk packages (magisk manager), but I noticed an Android folder on my SD card. Made a backup of the one I had and replaced it with the SD one in twrp. Holy shit I have pretty much everything back.
Still can't update or anything though. What do I do?

I've been toying around, trying to get this to work for the last two hours. I could ask questions and say what I've been doing, but I'm pretty lost. I've done variants of getting the github zip and running pyinstaller on the setup.py, to doing python and importing it and trying to access a function or initialize it. I'm just extremely confused on the next step, and it doesn't help that there are dependencies problems or I'm retarded. I understand it's a GUI application, and it seems to be standalone(?) but I'm not sure on how to boot it up. I'm on win10. pypi.org/project/BaiduGrabber/

Ok, AT&T internet is no joke... I just got my 4th copyright infringement notice. Had me do an educational exercise thing.
Anyone else have these notices from AT&T? How many have you gotten? Anyone had their internet cut off from them? Legal consequences? Stories?
Yeah no shit. It was just clicking through like 8 pages of "here's why theft is bad" with an 8-question quiz after. They said if you didn't do the thing by a date, they would hinder your service until you completed it.
And you're paying for this? Where do you live? I'd get a lawyer, and start a class action lawsuit. ATT has to prove that you're 'stealing' content that you don't already own, and just getting a digital copy of. They're assuming you're stealing, and you're admitting it by taking these courses.
Luke Fisher
Not OP, but:
>And you're paying for this? Typically, you pay for internet. ANd by doing so, you agree to the legalities of that IP. >I'd get a lawyer, and start a class action lawsuit. OP can only afford ATT internet but he should somehow spring for a lawyer? Why? ATT has to prove that you're 'stealing' content that you don't already own, and just getting a digital copy of. You are aware that IPs can, and do, monitor your service, and are intimately aware of customers stealing copyright content, right? The internet isn't the fucking wild west anymore, this sin't the 90s - IPs know what the fuck you're doing, and if they don't then companies (like Universal and Fox and etc etc) will tell them what you're doing. >They're assuming you're stealing, and you're admitting it by taking these courses. They're not assuming anything: they know.
They don't know shit. You can legally download a copy of anything you own.
Lucas Nguyen
Doesn't matter

I got a 970 I want to upgrade to run my 21:9 1440p setup at 120hz for most games. What's the cheapest card I can upgrade if I'm assuming 7nm is coming next year?
>Ask your stupid questions here. How to compare different kind of cpus? I mean different kind of age and different kind of family. e.g. Intel Atom N280 has about 50% of the performance of a Pentium M at same clockspeed. >What is a easy way to tell how much "faster" a cpu is than a total different cpu percentage wise.
Carter Gomez
Jeeze, never had that happen, and I sail the seven seas 24/7 - hell, I even seed. And I live in Commiefornia, where they were just proposing a bill that'd make it illegal to lie on the internet.
Not that AT&T doesn't suck - I'd have switched by now, but I'm planning on moving soon.
Jordan Gray
Depends on what you're using it for - if games, just compare the 3Dmark tests.

so i was playing a game and my computer crashed. now the game in fullscreen is not fitting the screen properly even though the settings haven't changed. did a system restore and it didnt fix it. what do
Chase Torres
Same holds - lest you just wanna read user reviews.
If you're using it for high-impact multi-threaded performance, rather than video games, that only changes the benchmarks involved. For stability over long periods of time under heavy multi-threaded load, for instance, you might favor Xeons over I7's, or some such, but if it's games, it's whatever squeezes the most speed out of each core, and the benchmarks will get you just that.
Camden Ramirez
IKR? Bleh... Think the intention of the bill was to stop "fake news", but the way it was worded, that would have been basically the end effect, with both institutions and end users being subject to prosecution for lies publicly posted on the Internet. Thankfully it was shot down, but the people in power seem to just be getting more insane by the day - hard to believe a lawyer even wrote the thing up and let it hit the floor.

I think it's time for me to start trying to overclock my memory, I keep reading about how much memory speed improves Ryzen performance. I've never overclocked RAM, and the limited amount I've looked into it I've been completely lost.
Can someone link me to a good guide for overclocking RAM, assuming I know literally nothing? I sorta understand that I need to play with the frequency, voltage and (maybe?) timings to see what's stable, and that it's some trial and error, but I'd like to have a legitimate understanding of what's happening before I start fucking with shit

Anyone wanna make a pool to see how quickly op image is deleted?
am I retarded? why can't I open the windows 10 activation toolkit? I don't think it's malwarebytes catching it and the zip file keeps auto-deleting after a few moments every time I redownload it I can't even copy the zip and paste it somewhere else because windows 10 won't let me fuck with it
I couldn't figure out how to temporarily disable it (various online instructions on how to didn't match up with menu settings I had) so I just full on deleted it still getting the same errors
Nathaniel Hernandez

Judging by a similar question by another user in the previous thread, it maybe Windows Defender that's removing it.

I have an external HDD that was dropped and damaged. It has some files in it that I would like still, but Windows says there's no FS on it. I've tried using Testdisk on Linux to see if I can get at the files, but no luck. I know they're still there because once in a while the drive will actually connect and I can view the file folders on it, but when trying to open/copy them it crashes. Is there anything I can do to get at them? Is there a way to (for example) rip the raw image of the disk and go from there?
There's recovery software that'll attempt to do that, but if the drive can't keep up to spin, your only two options are expensive data recovery services, or attempting risky drive surgery yourself.

My pc is turning off sometimes I'm pretty sure its because of my gpu when I open a video with madvr on crazy settings it pretty much crashes instantly and consistently I don't think its over heating since the fans are not even on 100% when it crashes could it be my psu not supplying enough power for some reason? it didn't happen before btw
is there any way to determine which part is fucked though?

How would one go about creating their own image tagging software?

If it's only happening with that one program, it might be the problem. They have a forum, ask there if anyone has had similar issues. If you can boot a live USB and everything is fine, then the HDD is fucked.
Jonathan Taylor
I'm replacing the hdd in my thinkpad with an ssd what's the easiest way to transfer all the data over?
Find dump file, report back with details. (Most importantly, error stop code and related driver.)
Adam Jenkins
i left power off for a while and it boots again now this is the first two from today, the latest one didnt dump (STOP: 0x0000001E, memory dump failed 0x80000005) the two that did get dumped look like driver issues, one of my RAM sticks died before (removed it already) so i wonder if some shit got corrupted before I took it out. maybe fresh format/install of everything would help
Asked this in PC builder but no one wanted to answer.
Why do i often hear horror stories about liquid metal? Is there actually some risk, or is it just retards fucking up? I'm putting a new heat sink on my graphics card and was thinking about using it.
Why does the mail.com official addon change my newtab page with no option to change it back other than disabling the whole addon FFUUUUUCCCCKKKKK. Anyway to stop the addon from changing the newtab page? I tried newtab override but it doesn't let me change it to the default about:newtab page with the tiles. Or does anyone know of an alternative addon, one that has the preview feature so I can look over emails and delete them quickly without having to open the email website? Using the current firefox version.
Ndis.sys is the network driver - if it's regularly happening there, it maybe the network card is fubar (be it built into the motherboard or not), though sometimes NTFS corruption can also cause this same stop error, in which case it'd be the hard drive, maybe check the SMART fail rate and run a chkdsk /r on it (takes forever, requires a reboot).
If the drive checks out, network cards be cheap, so I'd shell out a bit for a new ethernet card first, but if you're a poorfag, start with a reformat and OS reinstall, and see what happens from there.
Bentley Turner
if its the network card that would make a lot of sense, i have a shitty cheap PCI one which seems to get random lag frequently ive been thinking of getting a powerline adapter recently anyway because of how shit it feels trying to play games on wifi, unfortunately cant move router closer without running a massive cable through multiple rooms
Austin Garcia
Stupid answer here, but the only thing I can think of would be either conductivity, or being less effective than some special mix of whatever you get in your normal Gelid thermal compound. Again, disclaimer: I really don't have any idea.
Hudson Cooper
Why is 4 gigs of my RAM being used at all time even though no processes are using it?
>pic unrelated The OS maybe? What's it say if you open the resource monitor under the Performance tab?
Zachary Perez
If you mean thermal compound, the nightmare is just from people doing retarded things with it (including, in one case, an infamous MSI instruction video in which they basically put it on like they do toothpaste in one of those toothpaste ads). Ya just need a tiny dot, depending on how anal you are, you can spread it out with a credit card or some such, but you can also just crush the dot with the heatsink and swivel it about, as it'll end up contacting just about everywhere the heatsink does. You do not need to cover the entire top of the CPU. Even pic related is a bit much.
(And now 500 people will ring in with their own methods - like the 5 dot method, etc, it's all good, so as long as you end up with a thin layer and none outside the CPU.)
If yer scared, while generally not quite as effective, thermal tape is a thing, and you can't as easily screw up with that.
I don't actually know, but it looks like top three processes are already making up at least 3GB of RAM used.
Tyler Powell
Yeah I'm talking about thermal compound that uses conductive metals like gallium and tin in them as opposed to regular non-conductive compounds which use I think silver.
Jackson Williams
>21:9 1440p setup at 120hz for most games I mean... there isn't even a card that can do that "for most games"? (techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_1080_Ti_Gaming_X_Trio/7.html) I play at "regular" 1440p and went straight for a 1080Ti. Tbh, the "cheapest" option may soon be the 2080?
Blake James
>an infamous MSI instruction video (Brace for rage.)
The temperature differences between the various thermal compounds, and even application methods, are not particularly extreme (usually fractions of degrees), so I'd just go with non-conductive, particularly if you've not installed a lot of CPUs.
What do you mean it doesn't fit the screen properly? Have you tried changing the settings (e.g. disable fullscreen, different resolution, ...) and then changing them back?
Brayden Rogers
That's ultra settings though which are generally pointless
