It's /ourbrowser/

fuck mobile

I use it for my phone. I enjoy it but it can be slow sometimes. Saves a fuckload of battery though so I stick with it

It's the best browser IMO. Doesn't have 3rd party extensions yet, though.

I use it on phone and pc, still yet to find anything better

Just dl it because of this thread. Seems pretty good so far. I don’t like how close the reader view button is to refresh, and I feel like safari does a lot of things faster/snappier but it’s the only iOS browser that isn’t safari that I’ve liked.

Good browser.
Good values.
Good ethics.
Not enough addons.

This is why I use Waterfox instead.

>used it on mobile and grew to hate it
It's the best one I know in mobile, what better browser is there? I tested all major ones.

>Redpill me on Brave Browser Jow Forums

>we'll block everyone's elses ads but serve you the ads that the advertisers pay us to.

Don't be so naive /g-lets

Attached: serena-williams-cartoon.jpg (1700x1152, 395K)

It's optional

Are you talking about the OPT-IN option?
Who gives a fuck, shill.

Yeah, it's opt-in to see their ads.

I activated the option, it's not invasive and a good way to support the browser I like.
They don't make money selling your data, unlike SJWfox or Chrome, so I'm ready to have a few non-invasive ads.

>iOS
Why even bother?

Hi Jon.

>optin to have them make money off your browsing habits

Is the desktop version worth using or no? I'd love to use it but I've seen stuff that says it's not that great, and plus Opera is so comfy

I don't see the problem with this. It's opt-in, just ignore it

Don't like it?
Don't opt-in.

>Is the desktop version worth using or no?
Yes it's great, EXCEPT that there is almost no addons.

If you don't use addons right now except like RSS and adblock or something, you'll be fine though.

Brendan is based but this is just another chromium fork. Firefox still rocks.

I use adblock and whatever that addon is that lets you detect video play. I like to use that to watch camgirls while I browse

>Firefox still rocks.
Ah yes, SJWfox.
Fire -we literally give money to a terrorist communist organization- fox
Fire -we spy on you- fox
Fire -we'll install addons without your knowledge or consent- fox

I didn’t say it wasn’t cucked
It’s just better than the alternatives

Firefox is a good browser, but the company is too far corrupt and has very bad morals and practices.
I like Firefox forks, I use Waterfox on most of my PCs.

>I didn’t say it wasn’t cucked
>It’s just better than the alternatives
Use PaleMoon or Waterfox or something then, don't be a cuck.

Just used it for Kissanime to test out how it holds against an ad infested site that tries to fuck you for using adblocker. Works great.

Would recommend for using as an adblock browser, way better than adblock extensions with FF/Chrome.

However I'll still primary Chrome until they allow javascript console and inspect element.

Scratch that it does have inspect element. Just didn't work on the home page for some reason.

This will be my new primary.

Its adblocker is not nearly as good as uBlock origin.

edge

Haha

Good goy, please leave, all of braves stuff is opt it

Yikes

howtogeek.com/335712/update-why-you-shouldnt-use-waterfox-pale-moon-or-basilisk/

It's opt-in.
You either have comprehension issues, or you're a shill.

>tl;dr
>don't use forks because security updates are like a week later
>and also, don't mind the spying from Firefox, you can disable it if you jump through a lot of a loops every time they change something

I'm not convinced.

I think I need to make a copypasta for this just because i'm sick of typing it out all the time
If you want just privacy then sure use your little fork
But if you need both security and privacy then you'll want to be up to date all the time asap
Mozilla are the one rolling out security updates to firefox first
Just remember how they rolled out a patch right the next day after meltdown and spectre came out
And regarding privacy did you forget fitefox is open source?
Sure you'll need to click some options, but only the FIRST TIME you run it after installing
>disable statistics sharing from the options
That should be enough, but if you're paranoid you can also
>about:config
>disable all telemetry
>disable all experiments
There, you just made your own little waterfox, but with instant security updates, now stop being a mindless cuck and stop posting that gay shit

Attached: 1535917966055.jpg (353x402, 26K)

>who cares if they're SJW communists that spy on you, allow non open-sources content in their browser and install stuff without telling you, you can (maybe) disable all of it if you jump through a lot of loops every time they make an update
Well, I care.

>b-but forks have security updates a bit later
I care, but not as much.

Freedom over security. Deal with it.

It's worth using it for work, but not so much on a personal level because it lacks in a lot of features. Their "save page as..." function doesn't work properly (and I don't know why they haven't bothered fixing that yet), and their auto complete algorithm on the URL bar is ridiculously bad. If you don't set the browser to delete browsing history regularly, it will show you random websites you visited once months ago on top of frequently accessed ones, it truly is bizarre.
It's a real shame some things seem to be neglected by the development team, because the actual design of the browser feels amazing. There's a sleek and "crisp" feel to it that is hard to explain.

i use it on mobile because its lightweight as shit and blocks ads by default, but never tried it on pc because im used to chrome+ublock+other custom shit. i
dont like change

>im used to chrome
Good goy.

What's does them being SJW have to do with your browsing? Are you supporting them in any way?
They're not making cent of of you if you disable everything
And you dont need to do this after every update, these settig stay forever in your account folder, you illiterate fuck

the poster above me is a shill

>Freedom over security. Deal with it.
This.

Seriously all software is full of zero day exploits so who gives a shit? Oh no muh updates.
I never did have anything bad happen to me while running my outdated software.

Why should I spend time trying to disable every little thing I can find and hope it's enough (and having to do it again every time there is a new feature of update), when a fork does EXACTLY this, but more efficiently?

Also, do you think they don't make a profile and make money off of you when you install the software and before you opt-out what you can opt-out off?
It's already too late then, they already datamined you. They made money off of you, and gave it to proto-marxist causes.

Maybe you don't give a fuck, I don't, my parents lived through communism, I don't play around with that shit.

Holy shit what a retard!
>meltdown and spectre
Learn what a zero day is, are you ignoring that this shit was running with this exploit for 9 years?
Don't you think you already got exploited in the 9 years you did have it?

Attached: This+guy+right+here_6dc751_3251652.jpg (680x510, 37K)

Quite possibly.
More likely he's a lazy retard though.

Its my main phone browser
Havent used it on the desktop, last time I tried it looked shit

Firefox on mobile and desktop is better

>only firefox was susceptible to a CPU exploit that required fuzzy logic to speed things up.

Did I ever write this?
Learn to think shill.

post your stats

I use Waterfox on desktop, and Brave on mobile.
I won't use SJWfox, no matter the device.

Works just fine.

Why don't you use Firefox instead of a fork made by a homophobe?

I use Opera as main, Waterfox as secondary. Dropped SJWfox long ago, tried Palememe and Vivaldi but both were shit and buggy.

>Freedom over security.
What freedom do you gain by running a skiddie fork of a browser that is completely dependent on the upstream to continue existing?
>Seriously all software is full of zero day exploits so who gives a shit?
Not to an equal degree. Fallacy of gray.

>What freedom do you gain by running a skiddie fork of a browser that is completely dependent on the upstream to continue existing?
I don't want to finance commies and SJW by being spied on. Pretty simple.

Attached: Capture.png (403x303, 16K)

>Fallacy of gray.
Congratulations on making argumentum ad logicam, you go google what this is Mr. Logic.

I simply don't wet my bed that I don't have the latest updates, possibly with new zero day exploits, what they wanted from me they got already.

The first instinct of anyone who knows about software should be not
>Oh no a new exploit was parched quick lets update!
Its
>Oh so all my security was useless and they broke in using this years ago.
Also the NSA pays these fuckers to plant zero day bugs into everything. Welcome to the real world.

If you install Firefox from your distro's repos and use a nondefault search configuration, you aren't financing them.

Personally I quit FF for chromium.
Is this a good idea?

If it's unGoogled, it's perfectly fine.

>I don't want to finance commies and SJW by being spied on
Please link to firefox code that makes disabling all telemetry impossible to disable.

>who cares if they're SJW communists that spy on you, allow non open-sources content in their browser and install stuff without telling you, you can (maybe) disable all of it if you jump through a lot of loops every time they make an update
It's easier, faster, and probably more efficient to install Waterfox.
That's why I installed Waterfox.

>If it's unGoogled,
Is chromium unGoogled? This is the question.

Attached: -Chromium-Browser.png (578x379, 12K)

Not by default, not at all.

Here's the project:

>"/ourbrowser/"
Well, you can't blame the shills for trying, right?

How bad is chromium VS chrome?
Give me a list of bad things in all browsers.

>opt-in ads if you want to support the project
It's perfectly fine.
Most browsers only have "opt-out of spying, and maybe we'll do it"

Which switches flip themselves back in Firefox?

>It's easier, faster, and probably more efficient to install Waterfox.
What OS do you run, again?

Chromium is open source, so you can configure it so it does respect your rights and privacy.
Chrome is not open source, you can try to configure it, but you won't know for sure if your rights and privacy are respected. (Ask yourself, do you trust Google?)

But browser-wise, they're basically the same shit.

Although I think it's good, I switched Brave to Iridium

BASED

I'm currently using Palemoon. The big problem I have with it that the latest versions of add-ons don't work

>when we do eventually allow select ads through
Yeah, nah. Fuck this browser, fuck its business model, and fuck the people who support it.

Attached: 1529067568112.png (775x398, 32K)

Fennec

>allow select ads
I mean how stupid did you need to be to think all the add blockers are anything else then a middleman who wants to serve you ads?

How stupid do you need to be? And in what candy fantasy land do you live in?

Brave is good on mobile since it is just chromium with ad blockers installed.

On desktop there is no reason to use it over chromium unless you are into their BAT shitcoin

>deprecated addons intergrated into browser
>contains a blockchain ponzi scheme
>is aimed at the advertising industry
>is a reskinned version of chrome
>offers nothing unique or enhanced
>has to be constantly shilled
brave is the ultimate anti-red-pill. it's entire premise is nothing more than a revenge-fueled cashgrab scam

I switched to it when I noticed Chrome was bundling a separate spyware exe that supposedly looks for 'malicious software' without your consent and eats CPU like a starving fat kid.

I'm using the dev channel version and like it. A few bugs are present in extensions but nothing too bad. I've been using their built in adblocker instead of uBlock Origin and haven't had any ads slip through yet.

back-pedalling

It's pretty good

Why? It's exactly like Chrome, but with more settings and a lion icon.
