CPU
>R3 2200G - Bare minimum gaming(dGPU optional)
>R5 2400G/i5-8400 - Consider IF on sale
>R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs
>Wait for 9700k - Almost surely best for 1080p gaming
>R7 2700/X - Best high-end gaming/mixed usage on a non-HEDT platform
>Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT

RAM
>8GB - Enough for most gaming use
>16GB - Standard for heavy use
>32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal

Graphics cards
>RTX 2000 cards are worse performance per $ than current GPUs. Just a marketing gimmick to rip off idiots
>Avoid cheap MODELS ie MSI Armor (Mk2 is ok), Gigabyte G1/Wf, ASUS dual, and others which have small heatsinks and low quality fans
1080p
>RX 570/580 /w Freesync or 1060 6GB are standard 1080p 60fps+ options
>1050 3Gb or RX560 for lower settings, or older games
>GTX 1070Ti/Vega 56 if seeking higher FPS /w a high hz monitor
1440p
>Vega 56; 1070Ti/1080 if you already have Gsync
>GTX 1080Ti if seeking higher FPS /w a high hz monitor
4K
>Upscale from 1620-1800p. Maybe 2080Ti, but awful value.
OpenCL work
>Vega 64

Storage
>Backup before using StoreMi
>Consider getting a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & large HDD
>2TB HDDs are barely more $ than 1TB
>M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard

Display
>Consider 75hz minimum; 60hz are mostly old models.
>Always consider FreeSync with AMD cards
>___sync is important for slower response time monitors (IPS)
>PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING

1'st post for FUCK INTEL & JEWS

Pre built = woke

building your own pc is for basedboys and poorfags

Why 144hz costs more than 4k?

because it's better. It's like asking why 1080ti costs more than 1060

Is it worth it to upgrade from 980Ti to 1070Ti or should I go straight for the 1080Ti?

I OC all my cards and play at 4k60.

>1070ti
>4k60fps
lol good luck with that

My 980 ti runs
>MGSV high-ultra with increased FOV at 60-70FPS
>GTAV very high with increased FOV at 55-70FPS
>HITMAN 2016 high-ultra at 45-55FPS (memory bottleneck I think, any settings at 4K result in such FPS while I could get 60+ at 1440p with a 970)
>CSGO low at 150-350FPS

I'm mostly looking to play a couple years old AAA games not below 60fps, don't care if I have to play on high instead of ultra.

How you guys elevate the computer from the ground?

I having hard time finding a stupid fucking table just right for my computer

980Ti -> 1070 Ti is little to no improvement

waste of money go 1080 Ti (still a waste, but not as much) )or just enjoy what you have for a few more gens

status: rustled

Just bought an MSI Armor 1080ti 11GB for $550. How fucked am I?
ascendtech.us/dell-nvidia-gf-gtx-1080ti-11gb-vc-8dv70_i_vcd8dv70n1080ti.aspx

Then I'm just gonna get a used 1080Ti

Why Hwinfo and no hwmonitor?

is there a significant difference between the ddr4 ram sticks on newegg? I'm just trying to find a new 8 gb stick for a build.

also, is it easier to pirate w10 or should I just stick with pirating w7?

what does the OP pasta mean by "PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING
"?

There is no need to get a 2080ti if you have a 60hz monitor

Got a promotion, plan on building a new PC to celebrate.

How much should I sell my current one for? Has two issues.

>missing one of the rear slot covers
>plastic tab on GPU PCIE slot broke off but the GPU seats fine, never had an issue

I was thinking around $600.

pcpartpicker.com/list/vdvPvn

What do you think of this?
>Ryzen 5 2600X
>2x8GB 3200MHZ Corsair Vengeance
>B450 Plus MSI
GPU later when Cyberpunk 2077 is out. Currently a R7 260X Sapphire 1188MHz base clock (not 1100MHz as others)

$800

Terrible cooling

It's OEM from an Alienware. From what I know the original Armor is shit because it has a 1070 fan, but this looks like a real 1080 fan. I can buy an aftermarket fan cooler for $50 or go liquid since it's a custom PCB that's solid for liquid cooling apparently.
youtube.com/watch?v=BNQtfNFCWa8

>2080 confirmed as 1080ti reskin

Will AMD have a field day?

If your monitor has a 60hz refresh rate you've essentially hard capped your pc to 60 fps so anything higher wont matter

Any advice on motherboards?
Something for an ATX case that fits a 1080ti.
Budget technically unlimited but I'm a tight ass so good value is appreciated

Attached: 1486324615343.png (197x107, 2K)

Turn all of that to white and it will look better than your shitbox

Acer Predator XB271HUB (IPS) is good?

I can get one for a bit cheaper than the TN version, though lots of people on Amazon seem to complain about panel quality control.

This is the closest I've been to hitting go;
au.pcpartpicker.com/list/6xmbyX

Can I make it any better without adding to the cost?

Leaf here. Need help deciding between a RX 580 and a GTX 1060:

Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 ($356.99 CAD)
Gigabyte Windforce GTX 1060 ($339.99 CAD)

If I'm using this setup (au.pcpartpicker.com/guide/t832FT/great-amd-gaming-build) for a mix of gaming and high-demand digital art, what kind of monitor would you guys suggest that's in the same price range relatively?

Is the 1060 6GB or 3GB?

8GB and 6 GB respectively.

i'd personally go with the sapphire just because it's not gigabyte

newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127945
>1070 ti for $599 when a 1080 is $469
Nani the fuck

>kangaroo dollars
Nevermind

What's wrong with Gigabyte? Their motherboards seem to be pretty good, or at least better than my old ASRock.

aside from that, any other issues with my build?
Is a 1070 worth it over the 1070? Are 'cheap' 1070 ti's to be avoided?

their cooling solutions are not that good, sapphires nitro+ has a better heatsink+fans and is quieter. like i said, that's just my personal preference.

Can rx 560 drive a 144hz monitor? i mean if i play everything on low? yes all new mainstream games right now mostly those online shooter shit

Lol not even in 720p

RGBs only toggle on when 2 or more people enter the room.

Brilliant!

Its like a play park for spiders.

Trying to tidy up my cables. How tolerant are PSU cables generally? More specifically how much/how long can they bend for without breaking?
Pic related. It is a Seasonic Focus if that helps.

Is Black Friday/Cyber Monday a good time to see some deals on PC hardware?
Average consumers are more interested in TV's and Smartphones or Consoles, but what's the chance of seeing some sweet GPU, CPU or Mobo deals during Black Friday?

Attached: 1534034503968.webm (720x1280, 2.93M)

Is the H700 (non i) a good case? I like the white/black aesthetic and the cable management is incredible. Airflow is fairly good, top 25% according to Gamers Nexus.

Attached: nzxt-h700i-matte-white-mid-tower-gaming-case-1000px-v1-0006.jpg (900x900, 299K)

it.pcpartpicker.com/list/wZR2jy
I think this is my definitive build, anything wrong or that I should consider before buying?

That pic is true for just about all stores. Don't fall for it
But black Friday does come with some really good genuine PC component deals but only for a select few items. Like last year the 1600 and mobo had a combo for about $200 I think. They'll probably do the same with 2600 cause its very popular

Since the chances of my wishlist CPU and Mobo combo being sold in a bundle at a heavy discount are highly unlikely, should I just get the mobo and then see how 2600 prices change in a few months time? I'd rather get an r5 3600 but I'm not keen on paying 200€ on launch day for it.

>poozen with sub 3200 ram
I hope you're not gaming

I'm gaming rn with a 7 year old laptop, how much does that effects negatively my performance?

>Copying the Cougar Conquer
Chinks

Attached: Cougar-Conquer-EK-Orange-Crush-Build-3.jpg (1920x1080, 487K)

get 3200 ram and maybe m.2 ssd if you're into those

needs racing stripes

i've seen the m2 ssd at the same price, on the manufacturer website they don't say anything about it being better than the 2.5"

PC parts have all finally arrived, what's the go to building guide to use for a beginner?

Attached: 1466982408249.png (377x326, 11K)

I'm not but how good will Cl16 3200 perform when compared to a Cl14 3200 kit? I know the Cl14 kit can be overclocked to around 3400mhz but I'm not paying 80€ more for a 5% to 10% perf. increase in SOME titles.

Figured this would be the best place to ask. I'm working on a more /diy/ project where I need to get video stream from 1 or 2 IP security cameras (attached to the computer by an ethernet cable and maybe a switch), juxtapose the 2 images together, then display the images on a screen. I'd like room to be able to superimpose text and other graphics on the images as well, like a HUD. The camera I have chosen is capable of outputting 12MP 4K video.

The project is intended to be wearable, so I need to choose an appropriate single board computer. In a simple stream recieving application like this, is it more important to have RAM or processing power? It's very important to minimize latency as much as possible. I know I will have to work with the frame buffer settings to start. I will be using OpenCV to read the camera stream if that helps.

Which of the computers here would be capable of handling my task?

>put mobo in
>put parts on mobo
>put psu
>connect cables
>turn on
just don't do it on a bed or fabric and make sure you're not loaded with static

it's not better but it makes your build 5% neater which is nice
Jow Forums
>remove parts
>put them on your mobo
>turn it on
>if it works place mobo inside case
>???
>profit
watch a youtube video if you're scared but it's pretty easy, just don't forget to put the I/O shield in before the mobo and don't lose any screws

Well the 3600 would be worth it for the launch day price honestly.
And mobo prices don't go up only down so rather get a mobo when your getting the 2600

Use any guide that has your motherboard and cpu combo in it. Everything else is straightforward. Don't apply too much pressure and handle your components with care. You don't want to ruin your expensive components.

>Well the 3600 would be worth it for the launch day price honestly.
How so?
We're expecting energy efficiency for the most part, since that's what smaller dies are for. Will it be wise to pay 30% more for a 10 to 20% increase?

Will Gigabyte bring back pic related for Z390?

Attached: 81q+P2J5juL._SL1500_.jpg (1500x1125, 220K)

i'm scared as shit though bros, but thanks.

Attached: 1466982408245.png (377x326, 6K)

So i downloaded fortnite meme yesterday and find out my CPU utilization is at 100% while the GPU is around 80% if I let the framerate be uncapped. If I cap it to my screen refresh rate I got horrible tearing and if I turn on V-sync I got input lag. Is my CPU a bottleneck if I got more than twice the fps of my monitor but its at 100% utilization? Running an i5 7400 and gtx 1060.

it.pcpartpicker.com/list/pXnYfH
alright fixed those

Would it change matters if I were to use an aftermarket cooler? I have an Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo III lying around in my closet: I used it to replace the wholly inadequate XFX cooling on my old HD 7870.

It's 5% neater, but it'll also occupy the one m.2 slot you have. If the ssd you're getting won't be limited by sata and there's slightest chance that you'll want to get samething that will be limited by sata, do not get m.2. Also m.2 is more prone to overheating,

It'll probably be around the same launch price as the 2600 that's why I say it'll be worth it. You'll also get a perf increase for sure since they're still tweaking zen

I inherited an office pc with g3930 and a 1060. what's the best CPU upgrade if i don't have a lot of money?

what else would you put in the m.2 slot?

intel optane?

dvi or hdmi for gaming?

Postan an important question regarding Ryzen:
How good will Cl16 3200 perform when compared to a Cl14 3200 kit? I know the Cl14 kit can be overclocked to around 3400mhz but I'm not paying 80€ more for a 5% to 10% perf. increase in SOME titles. I'd rather spednd that money on a better CPU cooler for overclocking

Imagine being such a salty ayymdrone you have to make another thread to shill your products when there is another already up

if you're gonna swap coolers on the gigabyte then it doesn't matter which one you pick between the two since are very similar performance wise. look at benchmarks to see how they perform in games you like to play and pick based on that.

did the thermal paste get fucked or is this shit ok?

stress tests aren't good indicators of every day use so i'd say that looks fine. my i5 2500 idles at ~32°C with an NH-D14.

Any news on the 2060 cards yet?

Console!

>CPU
>paying for windows

no. they won't be out until next year

Anybody got any TV suggestions? What's hot on the market? What're the gimmicks nowadays? What to stay away from? Not for PC use obviously

What's wrong with the cpu?
Work will pay for Windows

Fug. I don't want to waste my shekels on a (fairly) outdated 1060 card. I guess I'll just make do with my ancient 750ti.

used 1070 is your friend

that cpu is the most retarded buy

What's better?

Ram Price drops when?

Sadly my psu wouldn't be able to handle that.

8700k. You're basically paying the same price, but you get 2 more cores and 4 more threads. Why are you getting a 7th gen processor when 8th gen is out?

8700K

Really no one? Is it so obvious that no one ever asked that?
