did this yesterday, had a lot of complications with mounting res as i did not have a nipple to connect the res directly to the pump and so on, so not happy with how it is over with the pump/res.

i also got a LED strip im gonna mount one at the top and one at the bottom and have an overall weak white glow that's not disturbing.

currently waiting for 2080 ti benchmarks to see if it's worth the upgrade or not, since my 1080 is struggling at 3440x1440.

>that tiny DVD rom
Wtf just how big is your case

>Corsair 900D
it's a full tower

This is one i built the other day. I now its nothing amazing but i find something so cute about the system.

Attached: IMG_20180913_160800.jpg (2688x1512, 1.69M)

because you picked the right type of case for what you got, alot of people just buy a big case and it simply just looks empty.

>7/10

Overkill with the rads unless you plan to add a gpu block. Why not get a punp res combo? Also the mismatched fans are annoying. Why a sound card?

>fans
one of the issues i had, new similar fans are on their way.
>sound card
it's not a low tier one so i can hear an extreme difference from onboard to the sound card.
>rads
i had two watercooled 770's and amd 390's before, that's why.
i just didn't want to kill the warranty of my 1080 when i got it because i didn't have a job at the time.
>pump res combo
they are, i just forgot to order the nipple that connects them, i already wrote that

also i cant mount the res to the pump because there is no space for it unfortunately. so what i got on the pic will have to do.

Looks like one of the zonars. Suprising because i thought on board was pretty good on most z370 boards. Cant you get one of those rad mounts for the pump and then a bracket for the rad?

honestly havent thought of the rad mount ones
it's a Xonar D2x
you can hear the difference in treble easily, i.e. background noises in songs, footsteps in games and so on
and the bass is not just a "thud" sound, it actually fills the headphones with the deep rumble.

Fact: Mini ITX is THE ONLY acceptable form factor

Haven't changed anything since the release of the 900D back in spring 2013. (early adopter)
Only refilled and swapped for larger HDD/SSD

Attached: guts.jpg (1155x1573, 1021K)

Im using an external dac anyway so ive never even bothered with the audio on my crosshair vi but fair enough. Sure its not just post processing eq or a louder eq?

Actually for most people yeah, mitx or matx (matx seems better for budget)

Well its functional i guess

I *might* be able to do some watercooling in this case on the back and bottom fan slots, but nothing more. Front has a stupid weird way of mounting the fan and thus not enough space, and the top 2 fan slots are too close to the board for a radiator.

Attached: 2018-09-08 16.36.13.jpg (2592x1456, 1.49M)

there are bloatware settings on it as you mentioned, but i disabled those and are using my own EQ.
a friend of mine didn't believe me either until he heard the difference in sound too.

never used a dac so idk how it sounds compared to a dedicated sound card vs onboar, but the difference in pure "quality" of the audio is pretty big.

i have heard cheap sound cards are pretty much modern onboards nowdays so it's only worth going for the top shelf

I mean in the layout.
It now have GTX1070 instead of GTX670.
CPU is the same, because I don't really need anything else, the only thing I see benefiting from a new board is M.2.
5GHz 2700K gets me where I want.

i7 950?

hideous, also sagging GPUs show the world how dumb you are
>all that fucking RAM
mobos with 8 goddamn RAM slots are figuratively retarded
conversely... fill your fucking RAM slots, and don't use red. also L2make cables to avoid that awful looking loop at the end of your GPU power.
>so much wasted space
you riglets really don't understand the purpose of a computer case
>spaghetti

>blue light
it's like you hate sleep

The purpose of the case was to fit 480+360 radiators.
My old 700D didn't, so I swapped.
It's filled with 4 HDD and 2 SSD, the 5.25' is filled with enough since nobody uses CD/DVD/BD

then at least get a motherboard that fills the "living room" better.

Xeon X5650 @ 4ghz. I figure a CPU block and maybe a chipset and VRM block set will work nicely within 240mm of radspace.

Having a bigger motherboard fills no added benefits to what I do with it.

look if you're not gonna work to make your internals look nice then gtfo the guts threads

By nice, you assume, muh led and muh rgb.

No, I don't intend to gay up my computah.

>the absolute state of Jow Forums right now

let the child put its anger out, just ignore it.

Still looking for a worthy successor to this case. Also thinking of changing the 120mm fan in the top to a Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-2000. Don't know if it's worth it, but I am still tempted to do something new to this setup since I've had it for over six years now.

Also waiting for a 2080 Ti with a Windforce cooler, anyone know how those compare to the other offerings? I've heard the MSI Gaming X Trio is supposed to be the best air cooler but it's too long to fit in my case (part of the reason I've been looking for a replacement).

Sleeved cables doesn't make it better, only makes the cables look different and prettier.
And it's purpose was function when I made it.
Cramping stuff into a tiny case with only a 240 radiator wouldn't work for my 5GHz 24/7 OC and SLI unless I wanted it to cook me eggs when I turned it on.

This thread is called GUTS, not MUH AESTHETICS.

I would give you A+ if it weren't for the fact that you don't have all noctuas. It's like you ran out of money mid build and said fuck it, I'll just slap these generic fans in and no one will notice.

>Computer to the left

This thread in a nutshell.

How people take the pictures play a big part in how guts are shown.
People that over-contrast their images like darken their images to hide their bland looking case.

>*unblocks your airflow*
True
>*cools better than your radiatorlets without the risk of leakage*
True in 's case because I know he's not using sealant like DOW Corning on his fittings.

boy you are gonna get attacked

literally nobody else was actually rating, gotta mix it up. plus the overly critical nature always sparks conversations.

Attached: Photo.jpg (720x453, 57K)

i agree and disagree
it annoys me when the majority just post guts and doesn't write anything, they just wait for someone to rate their "priced posession"

but i disagree on the part where if you see a single smear of dust, you tell them to kill themselves and join your superior race

Fix your lightning then.

The "alpha" is a whining kid that cries about banal things like size per aesthetics.

Why would you assume it's a rating thread? This isn't the anti-buyers remorse thread.
It's a GUTS thread, show PC internals, good, bad, cheap or expensive. Doesn't matter what it is.

That's the point.

Fractal fans came with the case. They're pretty good on their own and can't justify throwing them out.

I do quite like the modularity of the Fractal Design R5 desu

>They aren't noctua fans, throw them out.
Yes you can.

>lose maybe 2c max if I take out both fans and don't replace them, net gain of the same if I replace them with 1500rpm noctuas
For what purpose. If I am to add a fan, I'll add a 3000rpm to my cooler as a push fan and place the stock thermalright fan as a pull, netting me maybe at the absolute max -3c

Watch out, Florida, I'm coming for you.

get a better PSU while you're at it.

Any suggestion?
Phenom II X4 945 @3.65Ghz under that cooler, might go AMD970 chipset, might switch to FX eventually.

Attached: IMG_9181.jpg (4000x3000, 3.78M)

Anything Seasonic is expensive but worth the money. If you're on a bit more of a budget, aim for some brand of at least 80+ Bronze or better PSU. Ideally, you want a PSU capable of outputing its entire or almost its entire rating onto the 12v rail. So for a 500W PSU it should be capable of doing at least 40A to the 12V rail.

I can't make any proper suggestions though without knowing what kind of budget you have to play with.

Eh, definitively not looking to spend over 50 for a new PSU, it'd feel stupid dumping a lot of cash into a pc that needs a motherboard change to be anything viable.

reddit.com/r/watercooling/comments/9gaq0p/finally_finished_my_dream_pc_build/
Ayy

Well, keep in mind a good quality PSU will outlast several rigs. If there's one component where its actually worth shelling out extra bux for, it'd be the PSU.

But if you're seriously strapped for cash, this will do better than that junker of a PSU you have now. Not the best, but its definitely good for the money: newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438012&ignorebbr=1

>Buying EK instead of superior Aquacomputer or Watercool
Wtf hapend to this place, why are boomers rampant here?

Pretty big.

Really nice. Tie them two PCIe power cables together and it'll look neater :).

Yep, 900D really is a case you could keep refreshing forever. I've had my Cosmos S for around 6-7 years, it's only just getting tired now. No USB 3.0, limited HDD space, limited cable management by todays standards. The 900D did everything really nice, and just needed a little modding for the res plate down bottom.

Such a pretty build. The gold caps look amazing. Any plans to upgrade that GPU or does it do what you need?

Woah you ragging on Crysis 1? It's still demanding as fuck.

Really pretty case. Is the side windowed or blank panel?

If you can, you should remove that rear fan and slap two for a pull-push on the CPU rad. You'll get better temps over all.

I upgraded a single 770 to two after 2 years of having it, and had 770s in SLI for all of 5 days before my original one popped. It was 7 hours within warranty. I got a GTX 970 as a replacement card and only recently moved to a 1070, and then twin vegas in CF.

Thank you mate. Loving the lighting in yours. Just enough to show it off, but not going insane.

I'm proud of it - been sharing it ;)

you guys do know that a hyper 212 or noctua nh-u12s is all you need, right?

user what case is that? I've got a Ryzen 1400 machine for an HTPC and I'm thinking about a new case.

Fractal Design Node 304. It was released back in 2012 or something, but my unit that was purchased this year came with the updated hard drive cages (for some of the newer high capacity drives with different mounting hole layout)

you can check all of the galleries on pcpartpicker for inspiration or ideas regarding the case

Noice, is that a Lian Li? I used to have a similar case.

yes, you get to enjoy a bigger amount of screen tear

Yeah, pc65. I know it's old, but nothing new that feels like a good replacement. If there were something like one of those rosewill rack mounts but flipped on its side to make a regular tower that would be cool, but I don't need to spend more on this machine than I already have.

>Such a pretty build. The gold caps look amazing.
thanks! yeah i wanted to leave the gold on the caps as the only accent color, with the SSD as the feature piece and palette-base
>Any plans to upgrade that GPU or does it do what you need?
honestly i would love to upgrade but it still does everything i need. i really dont game anymore and it drives 1080p video without a hitch. cannot complain.
