MPV doesn't update data

Why does MPV suck? Using MPC-HC, you can play video files while they're being downloaded if you tell qbittorrent to download it from the beginning of the file.

MPV opens the file and starts playing it, but ignores all the pieces that have been downloaded since you opened the file, so instead of playing the (now completely downloaded file) it skips because it's still working with the version of the file that only had the beginning part downloaded, so you have to quit MPV and open the file again to make it play the rest of it.

This is fucking retarded

Streaming is for plebs.

it's technically not streaming

You have to add file:// before path so that mpv treats the file as streaming

mpv file://yourincomplete.mkv

etc

Works on my machine, I do it all the time

>qBittorrent
You can set uTorrent 2.2.1 to do the same thing and have a client that doesn't suck.
You also don't have to click it each time that way.

MPV is for autistic neckbeards who want to spend their time writing a command line script every time they want to open a video file, just so they can claim a placebo-tier improvement in the picture quality of their underage-girl Japanese cartoons.

MPC-HC and VLC don't have this problem, and they play files just as well as mpv

t. nigger

I'm just double clicking a file mate, I'm not gonna open cmd for this shit

ITT: Windowsniggers cope with the fact that the best music player doesn't play nicely with their OS

>the best music player
foobar2000? which is windows exclusive?

>music player
what?

video player* of course, though it supposedly doubles as music player.
too drunk for this shit

MPV itself doesn't suck. Using MPV on Windows does.
MPC-HC for Windows, MPV for Linux.

Works fine on my machine when I use xdcc.
>downloading pieces in order on torrents
That option is fucking stupid.

>windows

Disable all caching?

another great thread

oh wow, why are you so emotional? Is your mom named MPV?

works on my machien

>swarm
Public tracker pleb detected.

I've never had this issue and do it with mpv all the time.
Works on my machine.

why would it sucks on Windows?

This always worked with VLC for me.

I thought playing a not yet downloaded movie/torrent was pretty standard.

it doesn't work on his machine and his generalization has been outed against him, carry on

How do I get mpv to remember the volume I closed it with, or open with a different volume than 100 so it doesn't blast my ears each time I open a video?

volume=50

You should be able to modify qBittorrent so you can double click the file in qBittorrent and it will run it that way.

VLC's IPC API sucks. MPV's works very well. Furthermore MPV has better scripting support.

I couldn't care less about any dumb ricer videophile bullshit.

mpv on Windows doesn't suck.

Or you can just double-click a video file and have it open in mpv.

Most freetard programs are literally for autistic neckbeards

>Can't figure out mouse support on the linux computer

>tech illiteracy
It has nothing to do with mice.

works here

It works exactly how it works on Loonix, autismo.

Then what are you complaining about, loser?

Never had that problem, most likely a user error, and I'm watching movies all the time in mpv while they being downloaded with qbittorrent.
