It never ceases to amaze me how Windows updates are often huge in size and take a good few minutes to install even on a fast system. Installing updates on a Linux box is a breeze in comparison.

Because Unix developers were lazy and Windows devs were the only ones to implement proper file locking. Unfortunately, it turns out that file locking was a mistake.
Same thing with Unicode. Windows did the right thing and adopted 16-bit encodings early, then they got fucked for it while Linux got superior UTF8. Laziness is superior

You cant do this in Windows 10. Even if you turn off the update service it's turns itself back on.
