I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

If the worst case scenario does happen and it negatively affects Linux development, then yeah, it will bother me. But I just don't see it as a guaranteed thing as many in here do. And I don't think there's anything in the CoC that prevents people from being direct and strict, but in Linus' case what it would cut down on is the pretty unprofessional personal attacks. Being direct and strict was good for the kernel, but I don't think some of the over the top outbursts were, they even drove some developers away.

I just switched to Linux. I don't care much about this shit because the code of conduct does not (yet) affect users. I can still shit on niggers, trannies and kikes.

However I'm noticing that for every good thing that I have, there's some shitty one. For instance, on KDE Plasma, with Chrome, not using system borders and title bars results in not having drop shadows. This is the kind of shit that drives me up the fucking wall. Microsoft has fucked up with Windows 10 on the aspect that many things seemed inconsistent, but I would have thought this was worked on for a while and shit like this wouldn't still happen. It just looks bad. Of course a fix for that would be just disabling all drop shadows but that's the stupidest way of fixing something.
